I wish there were more...hell, I wish we had a more parliamentary system...but....the "first past the post" nature of our voting enables the two-party system.

You wish we had more what? More democratic candidates? You still haven't answered the question. Why are there ONLY TWO democratic candidates. The number of players seeking election does not affect the republican side of things so why bring up the limitations of the two party system?

Because the democrats didn't select more than 3. And Hillary got that strong arm to box everyone out of the post.

:manny:

Whats your question here.

I just wanted to see you admit that a democratic candidate is purposely rigging the election and suppressing voter turnout.

But no, aside from that, she's exactly what democratic voters want :russ:

It's gonna be Bernie who is the downfall of the democratic party :lolbron:

Hillary will not win a national election. She is an easy smear target and she does not hold up to criticism AT ALL. Entitled isn't a strong enough adjective to describe her attitude.

Bernie is authentic and the receipts back him up for basically his entire political career. How do you trash a politician who has no traces of corruption and never backs down from his beliefs? There's zero flip flopping with him. He owns up to everything and has solid plans for all of his ideas.

Bernie will wash whichever Republican gets the nom.
I believe Bernie is authentic in everything he believes. It doesn't change the fact that he knows he can't execute that shyt, and the fact that he keeps saying he will, is a muthafuking LIE :dahell:

Will he try? Of course he will, until the Republicans knock his shyt back into Reality and the Coli Bernie supporters start calling him a puppet

Let's say he wins the election, by a decent margin too. I think we can agree that Bernie would be the type to regularly come out and publicly shyt on Republicans if they block all of his legislation.

He'll be able to legitimately say the majority of the people in this country want his reforms and they are the ones holding things up. That might not have an immediate impact, but that will affect the mid-terms in a couple years. It won't be like Obama's first run when all the Democrats backed away from him. Bernie's gonna hold everyone accountable and he has the youth far more energized than Obama ever did.

It's a long game and it'll take a couple years, but I believe the mid-terms in 2018 are when the tide will begin to turn in the other branches of government.

Wrong. The midterms are historically low with the turn out and it usually favors the opposing party that is not in the White House. Second; the gerrymandering of the districts are so fukked up that it would be extremely hard to shift power in congress. Third, Shytting on republicans isn't going to help you get your agenda furthered unless it is gutted and republicans get what they want out of it. You are basically conceding the fact that Bernie will be useless the first 2 years of his presidency, and even more useless to finish off his term.

What do you mean by "rigging?"

It sounds like you don't understand what the parties are.

The PARTIES select their own candidates. No one forced to accept the 2 party system.

100% I've been saying this since the beginning, his supporters are not living in reality.
sure they are. The reality is this. if hil is in office not much will change. thats a FACT. so not much will change for the people who want to vote for bernie.

what will happen if bernie wins is this. i've said this before. its not just about what HE can do. he can only do so much until congress has to do something also.

But if he's constantly pushing his views and everyone knows the only reason they are not getting thru is due to congress(repubs speficially). the people will start to realize, wait a second. maybe its time to change course. other politicians that think like bernie that would've never had a shot otherwise all of a sudden has a real shot to take some seats. because the people need to know its possible to put someone in office that isnt taking a bunch of money from the big boy corps and wall street. The people need to see it happen to realize its a real possibility. once that happens, other politicians will start to win with a similar take on politics as bern. If you keep refusing this reality and using the excuse "he wont get those things done..its not realistic." then nothing will ever change. so unless you like things how they currently are. You voting for status quo is worse than not voting at all.

I know you two are OK with the status quo, but real change takes time. Nothing is overnight.
