I defaulted on mines and didn't think anyhting of it until I went to get car financing and discovered that they had bounced that loan between SO many collection agencies..... for real. what I thought was one loan was actually THREE, and it left TWELVE negative marks on my credit history.
then they started garnishing my wages.
So yeah. paid it off in three years. last payment was three weeks ago. I made the choice to drop a whole check on it and starve than keep dragging it out.
It really is a game, brehs. Like walking a tightrope. You either make it on that A to B to C path or you fall off and pay for it... eventually

its been that way for a looong time. thats why they make u take those financial literacy classes when u take out a student loan. i was in the student loan industry for a few years before the ffelp ended and saw that 22-23 year old kids making $10-$11 an hour with debts like $80k-$140k, they cant pay so they put it on deferment which still accumulates interest. then they got $1400 student loan monthly payment. thats an easy mortgage payment.
