Why is After Earth getting so much hate?

Definitely wasn't as bad as the critics make it seem. I think they scared a lot of people away from trying to see it just because of the bad press. I think the movie will do better on DVD once it comes out.
People were mad that a black man didn't abandon his child for once. I swear the hate that Will Smith gets for getting his kid into a movie is ridiculous. If you don't think it's fair to other more deserving actors, fine. I'm even okay with other ACTORS being upset. But random people? Why? What the fukk did they do to yall? I don't get it.
This isn't the reason. People weren't upset when he put Jaden in Pursuit of Happyness. Defenders of the movie keep ignoring this.
I think people are upset because
1) the movie sucks (the biggest reason)
2) the movie's advertised as a Will Smith movie but it's really Jaden's.
3) Scientology
4) M Night
5) Will ditching the charisma that made him a star to play some boring father figure character.

Will is one of the highest grossing actors of all time and his son Jaden has been in movies that were critically and commercially successful.

It's really not that bad.... I think I might be done checking rottentomatoes before watching a film .... These dudes are on something else these days. Sound like a bunch of haters.
It might be a nice download, However.... if you pay any kind of money to see After Earth
