Gucci was out during the inception of trap music and was ice cold. But when TI and Jeezy went mainstream he caught fire in the underground and was the biggest thing in the South bar none.

I see the point of what you're saying OP but people will never not give him credit for that hot period and the influence it had afterwards. Even if it esd technically after trap music was already a thing :yeshrug:

TI's contribution to Trap Music is the name specificity and subject matter. Sonically what became the defined Trap sound is straight from Gucci:manny:

Also Gucci was definitely a factor pre 2010 he just didn't have the full mainstream machine behind him

Also Gucci put on the whole next generation of ATL. THIS specifically is one of the main reasons Jeezy and TI names don't come up as much as Gucci's. The more nikkas you put on the longer your name lasts

This has nothing to do with the early 2000s, read the OP again dawg. And Gucci was not a factor in the early 2000s. Dont even start lying.

Dog TM101 came out in 05, the only one of the three who was a factor in the early 2000's was T.I. and tbh I wouldn't even classify T.I. as trap music because his music sounds nothing like Gucci(who has the most influence on the genre) and Jeezy.

You started this thread talking about the mid 2000s now you're changing it to early 2000s :dahell:

Your question was answered in detail you just don't like the answer:manny:

:blessed: . Gucci was brought up cause he put out trap music during that time frame. TI and Jeezy may of carried mainstream but in the hood and the streets Gucci was it man. He was a factor way before 2009. 2008 was his mixtape run you smoking work if you didn’t listen to or know or think he was a factor before 2009. Might not have been mainstream but Gucci had the streets.

This is dumbest shyt Ive read in regards of this topic. Thats like saying NWA aint gangsta rap because their music sounds like nothing that came and changed the landscape after it. Thats not that works at all. Without T.I giving it a sound Gucci would have nothing to go off of and change in the first place.

Your answer was wrong and like I said you tried to rebuttal things I didnt argue. And Im no longer entertaining you until you READ the the OP because it CLEARLY says "early/mid" 2000s.

TI never gave Gucci a sound. Not even remotely true. TI's glaring contribution is the name of the album Trap Muzik

The Gucci+ Zaytoven/Drumma Boy/Lex Luger/Metro Boomin sound is the trap sound. Not to mention the fact that all of those producers came up thru Gucci

Sonically there is no overlap between Trap Muzik the album and the sound that became known as Trap

Yall both right tho. T.I set the stage with the name, but T.I never made what we know as trap music. T.I is to lyrically polished and to much of an artist. While jeezy and Gucci strictly made trap music and can rarely venture out to other sounds.

Nikka you changed it :dead:

Unserious thread
You didnt post until at LEAST 30 minutes AFTER I made the thread, if I changed anything, it wouldve said so because you only have so long before you can edit a post without the "edited" notation. But nice try deflecting due to a lack of a proper argument.

Im Serious came before Trap Muzik, so youre STILL wrong. And again. A sound changing doesnt mean the initial sound isnt what started it.

I'm not arguing with him anymore he don't know bruh, he probably wasn't around for all they runs. I'm a huge T.I. fan too, always said he was the #1 rapper in tge south over Wayne, but to say he was making trap rap is crazy just because he put out an album called Trap Muzik and a song Dope Boys In The Trap.
