I don't think anyone is "happy" but what's happening is vindicating what a lot of us have been saying for months. The Lupita fad isn't genuine, it's Hollywood's attempt to patronize the black audience. I've been saying the same shyt for MONTHS, but @Box Cutta and @Jazzy B. said it better than I ever could

She's an attractive woman but I wouldn't call her a stunner.

The backlash (If you can even call it as such) is the result of Cac/Kike Hollywood condescendingly shoving her down our throats. It seems forced. It's not earnest. Something is off-putting.

Black folks, and I'd guess that Coli members in particular, are very sensitive to how we are portrayed in the media. We've seen it ALL and are very acclimated to the ebbs and flows of our representation.

Lupita comes out of nowhere playing an abused slave, is dark skinned with a shaved head....she looks like the exact opposite of the kind of woman that Hollywood/the Media tends to market in the media. Is it because whites have finally had a change of heart? Is it because she played a slave and white liberals wanna feel "good" about themselves?
