The movie was already acclaimed before the Oscars and they were giving her all the praise in the world, so where are the roles? They aren't going to give her any, they just wanted to appear progressive with their Hollywood standards of beauty, but that employment gap for black actors and actresses remains "stunning"

That said, her success depends on what roles she goes after. I don't see a Kenyan woman as the lead in Mean Girls or When Harry Met Sally type movies. All the female leads in all mainstream rom coms could be the same woman over and over i.e. white, not too curvy, long hair, with saddish eyes. Rom coms are so predictable, they've become painful to watch.
