All Star
The way I see it is society has laws but not standards. Some of the most celebrated people in history are the ones who broke the laws. In the modern era I've noticed that people who try to call people out on their behavior get shot down. Did that happen forever? Idk because I wasn't there but I've seen it happen my whole life. Someone calls someone out on bs and then they are the a$$holes.![]()
Maybe what you consider standards were conditioned in you from the time we are born. Some of those were shaped by your experiences, others in the form of indoctrination by the culture you were raised in but just because a you don't agree with what is acceptable now doesn't make you any more of an a$$hole than generation after you. It's all relative and has varied so much that history is doesn't even come close to giving us any reliable measure for what we should consider a one size fits all "standard".
