Why is it if u have different mom but same dad u only half siblings

I always considered my moms kids and my dads kids my step siblings.


I mean on my mom side I'm closer to them, so they really like my brothers, but at the end of the day we half-brothers.


The way I looked at it was my mom and my dad only had me, and since they seperated and made new families, I will never ever truly have a true full brother/sister.

honestly yeah.

My dads kids have developed personality traits from their mother and my moms kids have developed personality traits from their father.


My dad is the brains, my mom is the heart.


I got a mixture of both. My brothers and sisters are just built different.
