Why is it if u have different mom but same dad u only half siblings

Because the mom usually has custody. So siblings with different dads still grow up together and establish that full sibling bond. Whereas siblings with different moms grow up in separate homes so the bond feels like a half-sibling bond.

Mine too. My siblings from my mom I came up with. My siblings from my dad I did not. I didn't even meet them till I was a teenager and they were grown.

Same. My dads kids are all 10+ years older than me so they were out doing their own thing by the time I showed up. Spent veeerrrrryyyyy little time with them up until a couple years ago.

still don't call them half siblings. They just my brothers and sister that I'm not all that close to.

I only have one technical full sibling. The rest are split between my mom and dad.


Obviously I have never thought of them as anything but my full siblings. I grew up with them.

Maybe it's cause I grew up with both my parents and all different sibs together but even siblings I never met I still keep in touch with and put them on.

This... was gonna try to deny it but cant... We claim people with connections but arent blood related to.... The ones i claim i came up with & theyre more loyal & supportive than my own flesh & blood depending on who...
