@Indica Bro I know that feeling.
I don't have a record or anything, but for a couple years I floundered like a mothafukka. Truth of the matter is, you are gonna have to suck things up and
transform. I don't have a degree and am taking my sweet time copping one currently at age 27. Trying now to turn some hobbies into income so I can
stop hustling jobs, as I have been through 7 since november 2013, and turned down a handful.
Your #1 thing right now since you are unemployed is to get a hustle going. I know photography has been mentioned, and that CAN turn into something,
and the best place to start would be craigslist and copping a cheap DSLR for a couple hundred bucks, without any special lenses. In fact, Craigslist
should be your go-to for a lot of offhand supplies. I at one point bought an old entertainment center, probably 4 1/2 feet tall and 6 feet wide, sanded it, painted it,
added designs, flipped it for $80. I got it for free, all I had to do was come pick it up off the street. If there are ANY materials or supplies in need, Craigslist
likely has it on tap, and people are willing to haggle, my dude. I also came up on what was the top of the line Graphics card in 2012 for $160 (Normally $350)
and can now run GPU accelerated art programs better.
Speaking of, if you have the slightest bit interest in digital media, pick up Gimp and Inkscape. They are both open source photo editing and raster editing software, respectively,
and sit down a solid few months and knock out every tutorial in sight. You want to be able to build a portfolio and even design your own business card, cause you will be
marketing yourself.
As for jobs, you are going to have to swallow shyt and go directly to places, patronize them, and get to know them so that you are in the running. I've switched from running
to large chain retail stores to having a string of small-business jobs. You mean more to them because they know you, even if the work is more volatile.
Pick places you REALLY want to work and find out what skills you need, take out some time to learn it even if you have to watch youtube tutorials, and put a bug
in their ear. It ain't easy, but you have to market yourself like a product no matter what you do.
