Most of those analysts are company men. Mark Schlereth, Howie Long, Mike Golic, etc etc are like those old school white dudes that would fall on the sword no matter what. They have no problem tearing down the field hands (the players) but the coaches/Gms/owners not named Al Davis are like beyond reproach. I think its the fear of being blackballed by the NFL that weighs on them as well.

He's not a star, but it's not ridiculous to say that Lin deserves to start in the NBA. If he got released today, a team would definitely pick him up.

Tebow, on the other hand, is barely a NFL backup quarterback.

^^ agree with that NFL is built on wanting you to want more. I know this isnt the point of thread but i believe if NFL wasnt played once a week and played everyday of week it would lose its luster QUICKLY. Only thing that makes NFL king IMO is that its once a week and fantasy

it would still be the most popular sport if they did that and cut the down on the commercials.

NFL only been big like this since the mid 90's. MLB took a major L with the 94 strike.

NFL is a movie. It caters to middle america. I think it was @gator_king that said it, but it seems to be 25 years behind the blue states in this country. Tebow fits the feel good narrative everyone loves.
