Fast food breh.
Good point
the information is coming too fast people don't appreciation patience timing etc

everything is devoured and absorbed quickly without proper analysis or thought.

remember having to wait for a movie to come out on vhs?

remember for having to wait for a music video to come on?

remember having to use a physical encyclopedia?

Thats why i support artist who have a personal relationship with their work and take their time.

Great point but to me doesn't excuse the state of hip-hop today

TV got better, there are shows today that are just as good as movies, if not better.

Music...ok I'll give you that but there's good stuff out there if you look for it. Stay away from radio and avoid all music related award shows.

Only thing that has gotten objectively better over the years is porn and it's availability.

LOL yo bruh you brought up a interesting point....If I would've remembered I would've mentioned it in my original post LOL

I also like the porn of the 90's better then the ones now.....I can't put my finger on it, but the porn of the 90's seem more "authentic" to me...

I can't explain it but it just comes across as more "genuine" and "real"

There is a large pool of talent not being heard.

Chuck did said it well when he compared how talent is scouted in professional sports compared to in music in his combat jack show interview. Check it out if you haven't, it's very insightful.

I'm with you on the movies and tv shows too. I watched the last dragon the other day and it just reminded me just how much of a difference there really is.

yeah but why though?

and yeah I'll check out that interview...I've been meaning to check it out

and yeah as far as movies, we can go down that list too....

here are some random big movies from the 90's that I can remember and lets see if anyone can create a list from the 2000's that can top it...

- Pulp Fiction

- Jurassic Park

- The Matrix

- Heat

- Goodfellas

- Boyz In Da Hood

- Friday

- Titanic (I didn't watch that shyt lol but its a classic though)

- Braveheart

why do you think so?

TV was in the dark ages for a while. Only shyt like the Wire was actually watchable just going back like 5 or so years ago when the reality bullshyt started rearing its ugly head. Now you got puff like Games of Thrones, Suits, Breaking Bad, 50's new show Power is dope, etc

people get praise now for old ideas

faster bullshyt and making the world lazier

you get any song thats a hit ... made in 1 hour somewhere
and 100 other artists take 2 hours to reproduce it

The only genre that has dropped off in TV is comedy/sitcom. Other than that every other genre is much better now than back in the day.

Music is fukked up because fewer people are taking the time to learn to create music and are focusing on just mixing what is already out there. When you can take one song from the 70s and make 10 new ones you know you are losing a lot in the craft.

everyday theres 2 new threads about todays music sucking.

when its not even true - you just need to get the right connects breh.

We been through this already. When pressed its clear you dont know what youre talking about, WRT "music connects". STFU.

Quality of music/entertainment in general has declined. There is a much bigger, more concerted effort towards commoditizing entertainment, and the internet/digitization have removed the filters and gateways that helped ensure quality.

Everything has been getting better.

OP is just a phaggot

The quality of music has definitely going down, I'll give him that. Besides the Young Angel and Ike Jackson, who do we have to believe in? Young Thug? :scusthov:

I feel like this topic was being talked about 10 years in another forum. And 20 years ago, on a street corner. And 30 years ago in some club. And 40 years ago, in some smoky pool hall. And someone will say the same damn thing 10 years from now in a holographic chat room.

There is a lot of good music out there, just gotta know where to look.

I would probably say it feels like theirs less because its super accessible.

I disagree on tv with the exception of sitcoms which are terrible now.
Movies used to be better cause they were more original and creative and not all remakes. They also didnt overly rely on CGI and special effects which forced them to be more creative in a way.

As for music.. it has changed. It went from being an experience to being a disposable commodity. Part of it is the digital format. We place more value on physical goods.. and we should. Plus you gotta remember the whole experience of unwrapping a cd, looking at the liner notes and artwork was part of the experience. There were no album leaks back in the day.. you really were hearing it for the first time. And from the production stand point you couldn't make records in your house like you can today. Artist had to book million dollar studios and spend a ton of money to make an album.. Nobody was gonna waste money so they took the time to make quality tracks and music cause they had too. In the 80s and 90s Life was simpler before the internet and cell phones popped off so music played a bigger role in our lives. Now its gotta compete for our attention with all the other million entertainment choices we have. And its failing miserably....

yeah, at this point, that's what I'm leaning on....

the decline of quality of music/entertainment seems to coincide with the rise of the internet

I made a comment about it earlier on in this thread when a poster made a similar comment
