Once the child is born it's a citizen and minor, and subject to guardianship. Traditionally that has entailed the male and female that created the child.

Exactly. Children aren't carried by men because men don't get pregnant. There are a multitude of actions that a woman can take to prevent herself from becoming pregnant completely independent of a man. Options including those after having unprotected sex with a man. With all of that there's no way that you can say that a man is equally as responsible as a woman for her becoming pregnant. I'm not saying that men have no responsibility, but the idea that it's 50/50 is nonsense. It's insulting to people's intelligence.

Now having said that, I agree with the double standard quo. I'm actually more conservative on the issue. It's a patriarchal type of standard and it's important to acknowledge that.

2 people made the child. One person has to carry, feed and make sure that the fetus has the right nutrients/vitamins and enough hydration to develop into a healthy child.

You are carrying a parasite that sucks the nutrients from your body, grows inside of you shifting your internal organs and changing your body in ways that can't be reversed. Then you have to go through the painful life threatening process of labor.

So yeah, women get to choose if they want to put their body through that.

Once the child is out. It needs it's parents, because human babies are pretty much useless meat blobs that piss, shyt and cry until they develop a bit more and can actually communicate what they want.

Ideally, the father should help out the mother during pregnancy but that's an ideal, not always reality. But it really isnt as much of a toll on the father as it is on the mother. Men just spread their seed into whatever fertile soil they choose.

Usually both parties in these situations lack accountability.

Everyone wants to blame the other. The woman blames the man, the man blames the woman. If you both consented to having sex, you potentially accepted the consequences. The woman should have been on BC and the man should have chosen to wear a condom. The lack of either forms of those methods is BOTH parties faults. Nobody forced either to have sex with the other. If the man doesn't want the baby I agree he shouldn't have to take care of it. Of course that's the responsible thing to do, but not everyone has the same morals, and if you as a woman chose a man who lacks that responsibility that's on you . Abortion or single motherhood are always on the table, you pick your poison.

Now if the man wants the baby and the woman doesn't...
