Getting back on your teams defensive side of the court though is a priority for most teams. Cherry picking and letting your your team play 4vs5 doesn't work. Even James Harden will make his way back to appear like he's guarding a man.
Might be one of the worst defensive players I ever seen with woat shot selection . He should be lower imo
Are yall even watching enough of him to even be giving this level of analysis? Like, hasn't he only been in high school for like 1 year lol? Or are yall just basing this on sensationalized youtube videos? A lot of the shyt yall saying may be true, but if you've never watched the nikka play multiple, FULL games, then shut the fukk up.
according to espn rankings he's ranked 8th and the top PG in the nation in his class ESPN Basketball Recruiting - Super 60 Player Rankings he has his flaws just like any other 15 year old such as bad shot selection and subpar defense, but defense isnt even a priority for our mvp runner up or our 2 time unanimous mvp.. that being said the only difference between lamelos flaws and these other ranked pg's is that he is under a microscope and they arent dude went to oak hill as a sophomore against older high ranked players and ate their food, dude puts up numbers against every ranked prospect coli scouts would say is better than him.. offensively he's elite he just needs to make better decisions but coli scouts gonna tell u he's average and their lil cousin who plays for the rec league would eat his food edit: he also outplayed ucla's top 2017-18 recruit jaylen hands and got the W
Guy has a ton of natural ability But you can tell by just looking at him his work ethic stinks and he takes his talent for granted Reminds me of a young phenom I watched growing up kid named imari sawyer. Had all the gift, talent etc but it came too easy for him. Guys like Corey maggette, and quinton Richardson got to the league and they didn't have half the natural offensive talent imari sawyer had. He just didn't put it together. Sad honestly.
Honestly if I was a D1 coach I would contemplate if it's worth trying to unteach all of his bad habits
I'm sorry, this lil nikka is trash to me. All I really see is people making excuses for his deficiencies. I don't see NBA player in this dude. But I've never been into the prep world like that, so I definitely could be wrong. But I been watching/playing basketball all my life and I just don't see it with this nikka.
Imari Sayer was that nikka when I was going to high school. He had a lot of hype. That name took me back to my high school days at Kenwood
We have people in here really arguing that defense isn't important for a guard in defense of a kid who literally chases the ball around the floor at best and doesn't cross half court at worst. I guess nobody should play defense at all basically. He's not even a savvy, passing lane defender. They run a full court diamond or half court trap and he just so happens to be ahead of everyone else every time there's a turnover This isn't even a comparison to the NBA guards; Lamelo plays opportune spots in zone and presses and NBA guards play man.
