Why is Pimp C mentioned more than Bun B when UGK is mentioned.

Pimp alot like Willie D embodies what a true Texas nicca is... Honest and real.. Bun although real is alot more open minded and laid back about things while Pimp was more like its Texas and fuk the rest...

Another reason for this is that Pimp got sampled A LOT:

The other side, otherwise
Great thread and comments, I been throwing daps around like I'm a politician in October.

I really miss Pimp C's music. I still like Bun, but when I bump UGK I don't rap along to his verses and croon his hooks, know what I mean? He was less interesting as far as I'm concerned, but at the same time, UGK wouldn't be UGK without him. But I feel Pimp C was just on another level entirely. We lost a great artist here, brehs. I don't want to evoke the spirits of the legends like a James Brown or a Rick James, because he'd never reach those mainstrean popularity levels, but in terms of artistry and charisma? Chad Butler was one in a million, straight up.

May his soul be at peace for all the enjoyment, quotables, laughs, memories, and great fukking music we have from his time here. Long live the Pimp.

Bun would tell you himself that Pimp was the real mastermind behind the group. He'd say that Pimp would give him a concept and a beat to go with and let Bun do his thing. For example, Bun didn't want to do Pocket Full of Stones because he wanted to rap to something more up tempo, but Pimp convinced him to go through with it ... and the rest is history :skip:

n bun will also tell u if it wasnt for the original og memeber of the group...

mitch queen..he would have never been in the group..

in the beginnin it was pimp n mitch

weed weed was suppose to be on supertight..with all the ogs bun n 3-2

pimp never did like bun...on the cool...pimp n bun was a lil different than all the other southern groups...dre n big actually god fathers to each other kids n they were homeboys from day one..

Crispness
He was the frontman and the mouthpiece for the group while Bun was the lyricist and the laid back one. Bun got bigger and more known when Pimp C was locked up and he held it down for UGK and C by shouting out his name on damn near every guest apperance he was making. Still think these two hadn't reached their peak yet as far as album sales. Because Bun was more known nationally and Pimp C was getting out there with all of his outrageous comments. UnderGround Kingz debuted at number one and i think they were on their way to even more success until Pimp C's untimely demise.

The best synopisis.

It's like Dogg Pound. NANN muffucca wants to go up against Kurupt on the mic and he's the more venerated of the two, but Daz is clearly the one driving the car as far as their vibe...
