it's just kicking a ball breh, anyone can do this at full speed with just a little practice.
Titi Henry the legend

it's just kicking a ball breh, anyone can do this at full speed with just a little practice.

If everyone who can kick the ball can become great at soccer, why are some brehs playing in the 3rd tier of Vietnam instead of making millions playing ofr Barca or Real?![]()

you're just as dumb as these idiots saying anyone can play soccer and you just need endurance. so tall goalkeepers don't need talent? being tall is an advantage for a goalkeeper, but they still need the talent and ability. a 6'6" shooting guard with actual shooting guard skills will more times than not be superior to the 6'3" shooting guard. basketball isn't just about scoring, it's a two-way game. you have to defend and a part of being able to defend your position is size. wingspan is another advantage, not the only thing you need though.
i will say this though soccer has the most intense technical requirements and you can't come to this sport late. if you don't have the required technical ability by 13, no top level for you. there are no 16 year olds who found soccer and are now in the top league. like your embiids and a few before him in the nba. it's even worse in football, you have dudes who have the size and a college coach looks at them and says "there is a player in there if we can coach 'em up." 3-4 years later they are getting drafted in the NFL ... florida state produced some like that. a shot putter from estonia? damn you're tall, there is a defense end in there. fast rugby player? let's give him a tryout.![]()
In Football the Goalkeeper is the less talented athlete in the field, that is a fact accepted in Football... the difference is that being 1.80 is enough height to goalkeeping (you can reach easily the superior part of the goal) and that height is a normal height in a big part of the world.
WOAT analogy ever![]()

O! : What does Courtois have over the other Premier League keepers?
“His height for a start : he’s practically two metres tall. He has a phenomenal wingspan. He is explosive. He has also added something : at Atletico who stayed deep. I like keepers who are a little bit of a sweeper. He has developed his game tactically.”
“Yes, it is. Some people will tell you that you can play at the highest level with a size of 1,80m. Okay but if you are 1,90m with a good jump and you go quickly to the ground, this is even better. You have a better wingspan, this is quite logical.”
The example of the St Etienne goalie came up. Jeremy Janot, who is 1.76m, has played 342 games in French Ligue 1, despite being small for the current standards.
“Well, it depends where you are playing, I like his persona. He is a good goalkeeper as well but for me his size is a limiting factor. It will restrain the action zone where he can intervene in the penalty area. He would have trouble playing in the Premier League.”
When asked how and what he could identify talent at youth level:
“At 13-14 years old, the smaller goalie has a lot more explosivity than a taller one with longer bones. He looks more spectacular. What is important is what he will become in the future. That’s why as soon as we were interested in a goalkeeper we were doing a radiological analysis to know his height as an adult.”
LeBron can't do thisIn Football the Goalkeeper is the less talented athlete in the field, that is a fact accepted in Football... the difference is that being 1.80 is enough height to goalkeeping (you can reach easily the superior part of the goal) and that height is a normal height in a big part of the world.
How so? Please expend your point.

No thanks, I'll pass. I don't have any "point" to prove. I wanted to state something and I stated it, you are more than welcome to disagree. Damn soccer player![]()
Ok, alright. Next time just keep it moving tho if you don't have shyt to say.

it's one of the most important positions on the team and modern keepers have to be athletic. go somewhere. and here is chelsea's french goalkeeping coach using similar language to what i used when talking about height and basketball.
http://frenchfootballweekly.com/201...lseas-goalkeeping-coach-christophe-lollichon/
here he addresses your 1.80m point.
http://dailycannon.com/2015/06/ospina-fails-meet-lollichons-requirements/
and that's the point with basketball you are missing. if you can bring the same required skills to the table that the shorter player has, but at a bigger size. then yeah you will be preferred because by being bigger you bring additional qualities that will help the team..
I did have something to say, and I said it.
And although it hurt your feelings, that's YOUR problem - not mine.![]()

American football is for the overly aggressive guy that loves to wear spandex
Basketball is for the swagged out fly boy
Baseball is for either the lunk who hates running or the incredibly observant mathematician type
Soccer is for the artistic one who likes a challenge and poetry
