The QB position is harder to master than any position in basketball. Football positions are generally harder to master than basketball positions.

you're just as dumb as these idiots saying anyone can play soccer and you just need endurance. so tall goalkeepers don't need talent? being tall is an advantage for a goalkeeper, but they still need the talent and ability. a 6'6" shooting guard with actual shooting guard skills will more times than not be superior to the 6'3" shooting guard. basketball isn't just about scoring, it's a two-way game. you have to defend and a part of being able to defend your position is size. wingspan is another advantage, not the only thing you need though.

i will say this though soccer has the most intense technical requirements and you can't come to this sport late. if you don't have the required technical ability by 13, no top level for you. there are no 16 year olds who found soccer and are now in the top league. like your embiids and a few before him in the nba. it's even worse in football, you have dudes who have the size and a college coach looks at them and says "there is a player in there if we can coach 'em up." 3-4 years later they are getting drafted in the NFL ... florida state produced some like that. a shot putter from estonia? damn you're tall, there is a defense end in there. fast rugby player? let's give him a tryout.

Various forms of football were played through out history. Modern rules were spread throughout the British Empire. It's a fun game to play and a chance for some to escape real poverty. There are not many sports that can stir up the excitement and passion in entire country like futbol.

Basketball will always be my favorite sport though.

the irony being that soccer is actually the most simplistic and basic sport on a mathematical level

the relative inertia of the game is the real reason technical mastery takes so many years (and moreso than any other team sport). because you need to be skilled enough to overcome the inertia brought upon by the inherent structure of the game.

If everyone who can kick the ball can become great at soccer, why are some brehs playing in the 3rd tier of Vietnam instead of making millions playing ofr Barca or Real?
