Outside of the personal insults, was he wrong tho? Drake, Future, and trap music, and OVO beats are all environment music. Bruh, Jay-Z aint even become mainstream (ie, not on just BET) until Hard Knock Life. He didn't really start making bread until Vol. 2, which got WHITES on board. Until then, its was just black people that fukked with him, and he was pretty much on the east coast until then, with a few cats in the midwest and west coast here and there, then Vol. 2 dropped and "everyone" was a fan.
