shyt that is classic is STILL gonna sound dope 3,5,7,10 years from now, whereas other shyt we're listening to now is gonna sound like trash to us in the future

if it's a personal classic for you then aight that's whatever but to act like time isn't a factor is a dumb response in order for something to be classic, it has to be timeless, in order for it to be timeless, it has to stand the test of time

I loved the album and wasn't really a fan of dude before that either. Could very well be a personal classic. If u subscribe to that brand of music, I feel like it delivered and was sonically one of the best albums last year. Production was incredible. shyt didn't have enough of an impact to be a "classic" tho

It's a great album but to call it classic at this point is ridiculous. We'll see how it fares over time tho. This whole generation is weird with this whole its either a classic or trash thing. What ever happened to just having a solid album? I also, agree that critics like pitchfork and theneedledrop and other bullshyt hipster reviewers made him uncool to like before you even listened or knew who he was. Kids are too influenced by outside sources and are afraid of forming their own opinions about shyt, thats why there are so many dikkriders of the new "hot" shyt so quickly. I don't love the album but I listen to it semi regularly and it has some really great songs, I'd even say some of the better rap songs of the year. People see his image and automatically write dude off tho. It is what it is

i bought it a few weeks ago and its straight, really i only listen to 3005, that oakland song, worldstar, and sweatpants. he's a corny guy but the album was good depending on the mood

I'm a Childish Gambino fan but this album was one of the most forgettable albums of last year.


This nikka basically needed a screenplay because his lyrics weren't good enough to explain the story.

Anthony Fantano was right, it's at the very best a 5/10 album and it's coming from a Gambino dikkrider.
