I agree but this country is a two party country and the way its set up an independent won't be elected President. It just won't happenSanders is not running as an Independent because he then would not be able to avail himself of the benefits that come from being a part of the two party structure. Plus running as a Dem gives him access to all of the systemic perks that the DNC provides to campaigns.
It does make his constant complaining about the Democratic Primary process a bit hollow though. You really can't whine about a system that you freely chose to enter into as a means of benefiting your campaign.
