Don't lump Uruguay with Argentina. While their Black population as always been small, its always been there, and visible to those who know. As a matter of fact, many Black Uruguayans probably have great great grandparents that came from Buenos Aires after emancipation and the yellow fever shiit. And the Northern section of Uruguay was a haven for runaway slaves from Southern Brasil.

The Natives in Mexico were of a more hardy constitution than the Natives of the Caribbean, which the Spanish all ended up killing off through warfare, disease and r@pe. Thats why Africans were brought to Puerto Rico, Hispaniola and Cuba cause 96 to 99 percent of the Tainos/Siboney were executed and there was nobody left to do the plantation work in the hot sun. So the Spanish just enslaved the Mexican indigenous population and created a lower caste rather than import too many African slaves to New Spain (Mexico) because it wouldve been pointless and expensive.
