Why isn't Wale bigger/more popular than he is?

No homo, but he forgot to add "ugly"..... U can see kanye pulling hoes of all shades....Kendrick is not in the Wale realm of ugliness (again no homo) although he is short and dark.

It's not eem the dark part cuz if u're dark with desired features u're good :ehh: but Wale just has the trifecta and that's a lot to overcome.....:yeshrug: that's just the game.
:wtf: I refuse to believe if Wale went to the club, he would have a hard time getting at females.

He's basically Cole if Cole hadn't found a way to "Crossover" and I dont meanthat in a bad way. He's got a solid black fanbase but not too many Cacs fukk with him, but you know what? It's cool be a use he's actually talented, he writes his own shyt, and he's got a unique style.

He's a bit too overly emotional but you can tell he really has a passion for his work.
Drake is the most emotional nikkas out and he thriving....maybe its a light-skin/dark-skin thin:jbhmm:

Yeah, people forget Wale's career was dead in the water before he hooked up with Ross.

He had a decent fan base from his mixtapes and features, but his debut album drove all those people away. It's honestly amazing that he's been able to get to where he is now based on how bad his debut was botched. I mean dude had Gaga on a track when she was at her peak, and the song did absolutely nothing.
5 years later and that lame ass song still stuck in my head:noah:"D.C. chilling, P.G chilling, my name Wale and I came to get it":ohlawd: He made it hard to be a DMV/African nikka after that album dropped:to:

And I dont either breh :ld:. He's on the national scale for a reason aside from music....Many hoes like his style and looks. We're just getting down to the GRAND NATIONAL scale and trying to see why he isnt BIGGER than he is. I dont judge dudes like that :whoa: tho........:manny:

Problem with Wale is he keeps tryna to reinvent himself, and it's alienating his fanbase. I was a fan when he dropped ambition, then next album was The Gifted and he totally ran away from the ambition formula. If dude wants to make soft music for the women that's cool, but don't expect me to check for it

Big Sean? :jbhmm:

It's because he's good, but not outstanding. He's a diva on social media in spite of having decent (not outstanding music).

...but the most noticeable difference between him and his peers is that he doesn't really have a big crossover co-sign & backing.

Kendrick has Dre.
Drake has Wayne.
Big Sean has Kanye.
Keef had Kanye.
Cudi had Kanye.
Cole had Jay-Z.
To some degree, Wiz has Snoop.

Wale has Ross...and while Ross is popular, he's not crossover popular.

His co-sign works more for Meek than it does for Wale.
Wale just did an album featuring Jerry Seinfeld. How much more cross over do you need. Plus if he was Ross that also means that he has Diddy.

It ain't the fact that he doesn't have ppl backing him. It because every album he drops he keeps fukking up the formula. Changing his flow, picking shytty beats, not having good features. I never know what to expect with each album

Jerry Seinfeld in 2015 isn't going to get you to pop with the people buying all this hip-hop shyt. High schoolers and college freshmen aren't going "OMG No Soup for You!"

Who has the Diddy co-sign worked for lately, breh? Didn't help Machine Gun Kelly pop. Is French shutting it down and tearing it up charts up the way Nicki, Drake, Cole, and Sean have been?

He's just in that Kid Ink lane where he can get hits from his collabos.

Wale got a bunch of press off that Seinfeld feature. He was even in Rolling Stone (a straight white magazine).

Diddy made French main stream- got him a Kardashian and the rest is history
Diddy has Machine gun Kelly doing MTV - got him on Catfish

my point is Wale has enough resources to be seen by all demographics. His problem is once he gets a fan base going he starts fukin with the formula and changing his sound

Wale is popular strictly from music everyone isn't going to be a superstar.
