you can make this same case for TMac, yet he still gets ridiculed.

TMAC was not routinely going up against teams that would eventually win titles, or playing with rosters that were decimated w/ injuries like the knicks were in '11/'12. This is a team game after all.

Besides, Melo has made it two the western conference final playing with a competent, contender level squad so the comparison is moot. TMAC never did...the Rockets advanced with him gone.

2008 Lakers

C-Gasol

2008 Nuggets
G-Iverson
G-Carter

Where is this massive talent gap edge? Iverson and Melo were both top 15 players that season and AI was actually better then Gasol who didn't even make the all star team that year. Camby lead the league is blocks and was all defensive 1st team that season.
