Nipsey received more love than starlito before any of those things you mentioned

Jay z will never buy 1000 starlito mixtapes

nipsey hustled hard

fukk a jayZ.

but yes Nip did have more love at that point but his star shined brightest after he was murdered.

Lito has an ill flow and some dope content and honestly I’d prefer listening to him over nip but some people just never get the stars to line up correctly. Nip didn’t either honestly.

Man I thought the Booth was about the music. Not about his name or his popularity or his charisma. I might as well have asked this question on shaderoom from these answers. Only a few addressed Litos music

I said I never heard his music because I think his name is dumb. I wouldn't know where to search. Put me on with what you think is his best song or that one song that'll make me feel the same way op does

introversion's a pretty good tape and it's not depressing like most of lito's music is, lotta freestyles and trading bars

I actually like depressing music (dark shyt or rappers that emote when they rap. If he's that point me in that direction

I like lyrical shyt too or hard street shyt. But the emotional shyt doesn't turn me away lol

your stars are but dust on my shoes

Starlito has been around a long time, and his music has grown along with him. A lot of different styles over the years.

Easiest tapes to start with are probably Renaissance Gangster and Mental WARfare. Granted, the Renaissance Gangster tape was more in the mold of a traditional mixtape you'd find on dirtygloveb*stard back in 2010, while Mental WARfare is where he started to transition into the sound he's come to embrace for the past 8-10 years

nobody outside the west coast bumped nipsey like that till he passed

Valid. I started fukkin' w/dawg with Crenshaw then that was solidified with Mailbox Money. Folks like to revise history to their liking especially after someone passes. It wasn't till he passed that everyone became fans all of a sudden. Same with Pop Smoke.

This is not true at all. VL was one of the top selling hip hop albums of 2018 - he did close to what Nas did with Kings disease his first week. Was Grammy nominated too.

False. He wasn't top 20 hip-hop first week nor was he in top 25 hip-hop year-end album sales.

Top Rap Albums - Year-End | Billboard

Truth be told, the album underperformed from a commercial standpoint with 53k first week and no singles making a dent. His death is what really caused him to do big numbers and go platinum.

Nipsey Hussle’s ‘Victory Lap’ officially platinum
Hussle averaged about 2 million audio streams before his death, but after he passed he earned 10 million audio streams and 57 million that following day. His video streams jumped from 900,000 to 9.7 million on the day of his death.

Back to Starlito, he was much better to me when he was Allstar. He lost his love for music in 2006 and the content has been depressing ever since.

These songs are exactly when everything changed. Lotta personal stuff happened that I won't get into.
