What were we lacking that called for this?

I'm looking at all the games released...and there is not a big jump in graphics at all.

The loading times are nice...but that's just due to the sdd, tech that has existed for a long time now.

I mean, what are people that are staying last gen missing out on?

This is probably the weakest, most lackluster launch I've ever witnessed.

Seriously what do we get? A new system that costs 400 - 500 dollars? The nerve of PS5 now charging seventy dollars for games that look like they are running on A PS4?

Scust...:scust:
If you're the kind of person that ask a question like this then it's probably better you don't buy. Console launches are traditionally the worst time to buy them. The better time is going into the second year or half way into the second year. When you buy at launch you get the worst library at the highest prices. You also get to experience the long drought from the games that were ready at launch to the games that weren't and the franchises that are too big to release on a console when the install base is too small.

12% faster load times :troll:

:mjlol: People are having heart palpitations like the XB1X can't give you 75% of the things that the XSX can give you
False. The experiences are night and day, and will only wien further. I installed an SSD in my XB1X, and the XSX blows it away. shyt is crazy.

Said the same thing. And these things aren’t even available. Losers buying PS5s instead of Tesla stock. Happily enjoying my TSlA returns and my Switch gaming console.

I was inspired to play Dark Souls on Switch though. Great game

Or you could enjoy your PS5 and Tesla stock. Buying one doesn't mean you can't buy the other. That's a faulty argument cause we could do that for anything a person decides to buy.

Oh cool. Another "justify my decision to not care about these consoles yet" thread. :unimpressed:

For me, convenience alone made the decision for me.

Y'all can joke about the load times, but they really do make a drastic difference. Destiny 2 is less of a chore to play because I know I'm not going to spend the better part of 10 minutes or more loading between zones before I get to really playing. I don't leave Madden running for hours or days on end, because I know the process of getting into Franchise and loading a game up isn't going to take forever.

I fukked around and died in Ghost of Tsushima, and as a force of habit, I started fukking around on my phone, waiting to load back up. I died again because shyt have loaded before I even opened up a thread on here. On top of that, I'm playing it at a higher frame rate than was achievable when it came out all of four months ago.

And the difference is only going to get more drastic. Games will still be made for the One and PS4, but games like Cyberpunk that struggle to run well on that generation are likely going to be the rule, not the exception going forward.

These people are too broke to buy one or made they couldn't get one in stock

I'm waiting to get one simply because I haven't a console at launch as an adult because there's no point, I want a healthy library of games, I already beat Ghost of Tsushima, I already know what its like at 60fps because the LG CX artificial puts at 60fps in ultra color mode only adding some motion blur which isn't that big of deal

The first generation games are never a huge leap, it hasn't been that way since dreamcast game out when Sonic Adventure blew away anything out

its always taken a year or two since, ps4 wasn't shyt until 2015 when Arkham knight and witcher 3, and all those games came out, that's two years into the console's life cycle

people who want early that's there choice, consoles aren't that expensive, to where its a big deal, I'm not ever go back to consoles, because the sony exclusives are coming over, Death Stranding and Horizon Zero Dawn are proof, and they are just so much better on PC even on a cheap ass 180 dollar graphics card, than the console version, there's no point of having a console

consoles are really for kids, they turning more and more into gaming PCs and will soon reach limitations where PC gaming will be the norm, and Nintendo switch that type shyt will be the only console type of shyt because it makes sense

These consoles are struggling with current gen games to get 60fps and even 4k, I don't know why anyone will want to play next gen games like cyberpunk on these consoles, its going to be 30fps across the board

Spider-Man was the only reason I would get a ps5, but now that the ps4 era is over the ps4 emulator is already close to being finished for PC so the PS4 versions of these games will look better than the ps5 on the PC, I mean I would never have played breath of the wild if it wasn't for emulation because I'm not buying a kids toy to play one game like the switch, and the game continues to evolve, 60fps plus, HDR, 4k textures, etc, the community went hard improving that game beyond the shytty switch version

You wanna expand on that?
Without writing an essay:

  • 12% faster load times is gross understatement.
  • Damn near everything has HDR
  • Ray Tracing
  • Even unoptimized games are running incredibly
I'd be upset if I had to go back to my One X, and we have less than a handful of games even trying to leverage the new hardware.

For me the 60fps is worth it alone. I cant wait for Bloodborne and TLOU2 to get new next patches

Like usual GTA will probably come through and save the day if we are being completely honest.

My guy, a GTA hasn't dropped since the Xbox 360 & PS3 were considered current gen systems. nikkas have been playing a remaster for 7 years.

Coming from a pro, it’s definitely an upgrade. Can’t imagine those coming from base ps4s.

I’m happy with the console so far.

Exactly. I'm coming up from a Pro as well, and if this is an upgrade from what was the top tier, I really can't imagine what it's like for people coming from standard PS4s.

Games running faster ain't worth the stressing ppl going through. Still, not that many next gen games (meaning not cross gen)

Obviously I'm not saying the New Gen isn't better, but, dudes on fukking crying like babies because of scalpers and shyt

I plan on getting one next year when you can just walk in and get it

nikkas on Walmart refreshing the Xbox/PS5 page once every five minutes

If Cyberpunk runs like shyt on my PS4, I'll admit I'm totally wrong
