The majority of male singing I hear is coming from subpar rappers masking their limitations with autotune and other voice distortion type aids. I’ve heard more “singing” from Young Thug, Yung Bleu, Rod Wave, and Roddy Ricch than actual R&B singers, and that’s a damn shame
shyt most of them started out as rappers :mjlol:
This shyt is sad

1:36 in and this is the vid I've been wanting to make for a long time.

One white man trick is dumbing down black genius until it's to a level where he can compete as well.

By pumping money into lesser talents making them more "popular" than their more talented counterparts who don't have the shine, they can then compete, and when that lesser talent becomes the norm, they start pumping out their own artists who studied and appreciated the black greats that came before them, in turn creating white genius in the eyes of the public.
Some of the artists that fade were basically tax write offs and then were sabotaged on purpose to get rid of them
Watch this and look in the comments

The the popular side of the industry is a crime operation. They going after YSL, but if they are guilty they’re literally just doing what the cacs and “other” BEEN doing

And then that book called The (three letter)s War on Tupac which lists all the black artists who got taken out

No one trains anymore, no one goes through the years of process and practice, everything is digital, and looks are emphasized more than ability, talent, songwriting. Singers back in the day were a lot some ugly mothafukkas...but they could blow, dance, write, and control a crowd. Writing has always been a trivial toss up, but who's the last performer who debuted in the last 10 years who actually could dance and not simply shake their ass? Who could actually sing acapella?

shyts fukked.
Why do ya'll keep saying this?

So true, this CAC female from Europe had the best R&B album in 2020. It made me mad listening to this GREAT project knowing a black artists male or female are refusing to make themselves vulnerable like the greats did.

This album was a CLASSIC from track 1-14 just heat

We want black female vocalists. There I said it.

No offense to her...but I just get sick and tired of non-black people (and some black folks) hyping up any non-black person doing their best soul singing impression.
Man I was listening to my Apple Music and a group named little Dragon came on and I could’ve sworn them was some black folks. I look them up and

:scusthov:I was so wrong lol. That’s why it’s funny when we get mad at people like this when they blow up off of black music. Anyway, Kandace Springs is one of the nicest out but people don’t care. I’ll just say that

I'm being a bit hyperbolic, sure but you cherry-picked 3 of the best looking female singers over like a 40 year period. Of course all of them aren't ugly, but compared to the singers today, it's not even a contest. A lot of them are models, strippers, and actresses moonlighting as singers...

Microwave generation. Everybody wanna be hot and take short cuts. Social media made everything a Rat race :francis: Plus sex sells

There's still alot of talented people out there tho (and they have a platform). Some just see it as a hobby and some just don't know how to market themselves.

Ashanti can sing

it's social media's fault. regular ass chicks that stay in the same key, but can post pics daily attracting fans based on looks. plus their songs are easier to sing for the average chick, so they relate and think the can sing too. rinse and repeat.

if we gonna be real, aaliyah and mya opened them doors. that doesn't mean they didn't make some dope tracks, but they were slightly below average vocally
i said something similar about dancing

*
people still respect dancing, but folks aint generally making dance music. nomani gets props for her dancing, the only thing people universally could agree on about tinashe was that she's a decent dancer, dancing is what made Ciara stand out, and Chris Brown still leaves people :whoo: when he has a choreographed video...

but this new wave a down tempo or new neo soul music people like SiR, Khalid, Khelani, etc make doesn't lend to dancing

I can see this. I think I've only heard Aaliyah hit one highish note on one I gave my heart to not any other songs though, never heard Mya hit one either.
