Some things robots can't handle. Psychology for one....articulation of fingers for another. Robots as they are now can't pick coffee beans accurately or fish/crab. There's a plethora of jobs that require too much articulation, some time in the next 500 years maybe, but as it stands, not likely.

Economists that have never worked in industries input is as valid people telling some how to raise a child but have never had a child.

It's going to be a blood bath! Comparing automation to this multi facades 360 killer wave that is approaching is funny. Second industrial revolution hit a few industries this is hitting all at the same time and is growning while it's hitting. This can't be stopped no matter what! Very bleak future!

My industry alone has been decimated by algos you want to work in finance, ain't happening cause algos can do everything you dream of and more. Will write more later.

Comparing the second industrial revolution to what's going on now. Is laughable, the displacement that is happening and will happen will leave a lot of young males jobless. Jobless young males start wars!

Robots, automation, and "AI" are going to replace 90% of current jobs in the next 50 years. We just have to deal with that. My hope is people will be able to pursue more creative endeavors, and a minimum cost of living stipend is implemented...

One thing I think will actually come about is a social currency. They've experimented with things like social Clout currencies and China is doing some bullshyt that's connected to your credit.

But the robots are coming...get over it or get left behind.

you got any recommendations for how to stay ahead of this? I'm pretty much mid career right now, not really feasible for me to become a programmer but I would like to avoid being jobless in the future. for context I have a low 6 figure job in corporate America doing finance and general management.
