2. This is exactly how the generation before us felt about us....my uncles used to hit that :stopitslime: at their jams being flipped..and now im an uncle doing the same...circle of life shyt

You forgot the third irony.

Mary J Blige sampled someone else

So the song in OP sampled a song that sampled another song. And the original melody is in both songs that Sampled it.

Folks were damn near about to run a bulldozer through his vault, but fail to realize that Prince was just lockjawing his body of work. Sampling is legit to a certain tee. When I was sampling, it was to the point where it was its own song. Nowadays, dudes just take the sample, speed it up and just rap or sing over it.

Straight up cornball lazy shyt. Producers and beatmakers trying to create a vibe, instead of creating true music.

They were saying the same thing back in the 90s about Puff :manny:

The difference is that his way of sampling was composing. Like a reenactment to the song with a flavor to it. For instance:

This song has the chorus of a different song and the sample of another song. While it seems silly, but its creative as hell and a hit in the making. Meanwhile, these weirdos rapping over a long ass loop with no other method of chopping (COUGH GRISELDA!). Its lazy as fukk and just a disgrace to beat makers and producers that are trying to get their names out there, but have to adapt to this bullshyt.

Might just turn up some treble, bring down the base, add in am exrtra snare or kick amd call it a day. Like how Game's Jay-z samples on Drillmatic.. .. was disappoonted with those tracks. All it did for me was I felt like listening to the originals..

Yep. Like "Money Cash Clothes". I thought dude was going to do some miracles with that track, but it felt like a mixtape spittage over a instrumental. Not that I'm complaining because I actually enjoyed the album, but good grief, this is so damn lazy its not even funny. Imagine a drill version of Change the Game :whoo:, what about a drums only Money, Cash, Hoes beat. So much creativity being splat on the fukking toilet and off to the flush.
