Juve had like 7 or 8 years on him. He was on songs with 3 6 mafia, e-40, nelly, beanie sigel, devin the dude, youngbloodz , ugk :manny:

but yeah i agree it wasn't done right..but :camby:with that killed the genre shyt. nikkas act like the south just started making music in the 2000s.

most of those names are far from being lyrical wizards.

i'd respect it more if you threw the age card up there for BG who made classic music at 15 but you chose wayne. you can go on the block and find a 15 year old to do most of what wayne did, on the mic at least. shoot, i remember a time when the best rappers PERIOD were in their teens.

i think you misunderstood me. nobody is sayin that the south started making music in the 2000s. the fact of the matter is, there are vital legends from the '70s & '80s that never got honored. so to turn around and do a show full of relatively recent music is a disgrace.

and as for the genre killing comment, its partially true. half of the music that the south has been generating for the past 10 years is rap in its lowest form. and some of that stuff was actually honored on the show. they had one-hit wonders up there performing their hits.

Music is subjective tho. No Limit records is a classic rap label to me. They may be trash to you. Pre-carter Lil Wayne was dope to me.He may have been trash to you. I feel like Outkast, 8Ball and MJG, UGK, T.I. , Cash Money , Three 6 Mafia, Swisha House, S.U.C.,Scarface, Ludacris, Mystikal etc. are legendary. They may be trash to you. Whatever. I'm just tired of people acting like there has been nothing of value to come out of the south or that the south is solely responsible for the decline in quality rap music. While the east and west were on top, the south was still doing its thing. There's always been wack shyt in hip hop from every region. It didn't start when the south rose to prominence. But again, what's wack to me may be the best shyt in the world to the next man. But I ain't gone piss on his region every chance or act like his opinion is invalid because I don't understand how or why he likes that shyt. I feel like that courtesy isn't given when people starting speaking on the south. They keep reducing us to certain aspects of what comes from here and that's not fair. Puffy outsold far superior artists from New York in the 90s but nobody's reducing East Coast music to what Puff did. The south doesn't seem to get the same respect. There's too much variety down here to harp on the surface shyt because there's more than meets the eye to even the rappers you think are just trap or club music making nikkas. Bringing it full circle, when entities like VH1 actually get around to showing love to the south, they botch it because they're reducing us to the surface level shyt and honoring music from 5 years prior...they just dont know no better. Hip hop honors for the south at that time should have been Kast,8BALL &Mjg, Getto Boys, UGK,and P/NoLimit :manny: . They botched it and it just shows a lack of respect IMO. That's all.

i stopped reading right there @ the bolded.

no limit records is trash to me? im one of their biggest fans on this entire board.

that just means that youre being so defensive that youre not even trying to comprehend what im saying, thus missing out on the entire point. and i cant go back-n-forth with people when they get like that......especially in a texted argument where everything is laid out for you in print. you dont fully understand the backlash because you dont want to understand.

no diss, but im done here.

Cmon man, I'm not speaking on YOU specifically. I dont know what YOU like. Which is why is said you may think they're trash. Just speaking in hypotheticals to make a point. And if you're a Nolimit fan you know exactly what I'm talking about and empathize on some level. How much have you seen Nolimit disregarded as trash music? shyt, you even agreed with me initially then tried to nitpick everything I said. Read the post.... But whatever, its all good.

oh i agree. but i also understand 100% why people are mad about them being honored so early in the game. not only that, but half the honorees and performers had no business being there.

i just nit-picked that wayne comment. and that was really in favor of BG & turk.
