No one wanted to play for the Raptors or Grizzlies st that time because they were expansion teams and located north of the border so if there was a player that didn't mind coming over they would draft them instead of a player that they thing would've as soon as their first three contract expired. So maybe that could had something to do with it.

Why we picking on Mike Bibby? :dwillhuh: Especially when you consider some of the shytty high picks including the guy who was drafted right before him...shyt after him as well. He's the best player in the top 3 of that draft :mjlol:. We also have to consider the era. The guys who would have headlined that draft in any other time...Kobe, KG, T-Mac were already in the league. Teams hadn't bought into the European players yet...see when Dirk was drafted. Bigs and PGs were still considered to be the most valuable players.

Michael Olowokandi was the 1st pick that year. Lafrentz was the 3rd, and you worried about Bibby being the 2nd pick?!:stopitslime:

Bibby was very smart point guard (especially under pressure) who can run his team and shoot. He was very good NBA player, but didn't get the credits he deserves. It's shame that the turnover-prone Jason Williams get more props than him.

The fact that that same Kings team had to trade JWill for Bibby To take that leap as a squad says it all about how forgettable he will go down sadly.

Hindsight is a bytch, but you never know what is going to happen. Bibby was easily the best point guard in the draft, and he turned out the best out of the top three picks by a mile. And the top two guys in that draft were taken #9 and #10, so it ain't like anyone really knew how good they'd be.

He definitely had a top-five career out of that draft class. Only Dirk, PP, and Carter were clearly better. That's a fine hit for the #2 pick. Thank God they didn't pick Raef or the Candy-man.
You just gonna disrespect Antawn Jamison like that?

This isn't true. Francis was drafted after Bibby, so they didn't have that experience on their mind when they drafted him.

The Raps didn't exactly have a bad 90's draft record either: Stoudamire, Camby, Carter, McGrady.
