Just another happy customer, waiting to weigh in on NBA topics. :hhh:
Trash thread that became a feature. You don't see me in any football threads because y'all not man enough to enjoy real man's sport. I'm all over that. Haven't watched the NBA since Colangelo sold the suns and he SA Sperms destroyed the league.

I'm an old-school fan, these new nikkas today do nothing for me. But this question has always bothered me considering Bibby did nothing all-star worthy and Steve Francis was better in terms of game and athleticism..but Bibby wasn't a disappointment?? Can't even admit he was overdrafted?? Foh

Some used to compare him to Jason Kidd with a jumper. Maybe that's why. :manny:
For those that are too young, when Jason Kidd first entered the league he was one of the best PGs to lace them up but could not hit a jumper to save his and his family's life
It's crazy to me how broke his jumper was for almost the first half of his career and then he ended up top 10 in threes made

:sadbron:

How the hell was Mike Bibby a disappointment?

If the 2002 WCF wasn't rigged, this would be considered a historic game-winner and he'd have a ring:

He was the only one on that team who had a set the ENTIRE series . Peja legendary choked in game 7 and Chris Webber, with the Federal trial , free agency and Tyra on his mind , dude wanted no part of the BIG plays in that series :aicmon:

Best Sacramento King my ass . Casual fans and hoes here mostly thought he was. I thought we were going to get that ruthless aggression with the scowl Chris Webber that was on the Bullets when we traded Richmond for him. Showed flashes but I wanted nasty :damn:

It always felt like he was holding something back when he was playing in Sacramento. Never saw that with Bibby when he was here. Granted, Webber was the better player but it drove me nuts how he didn't have more of a killer instinct.

Exactly, and the Grizz gave up on him after just a season of play :mjlol:

Lowkey, the 97 draft wasn't that good. TD & Billups were great but also drafted before Daniels. Other than McGrady, the rest was mostly role players and Stack Jack who was a late pick anyway (and took years to succeed in the league).

Billups wasn't promising out the gate . He was a journeyman in the league and nearly out of it before he went to Detroit.

Olowakandi went 1 in the draft.
Raef went 3.

Why don't you use google, instead of responding to somebody above your weight class.

There are four guys in that shytshow of a draft who you can definitively say had better careers than Bibby. Which means he was still probably a top 5 pick in the redraft.

Dirk, VC, Jamison, and Paul Pierce.

If you wanna argue Jason Williams, you can -- but you'll lose.

the Kings were a bad call away from taking out Shaq and Kobe in the West. had they had went on to win it all, CWebb and Bibby's legacy would be viewed much differently. prime Bibby was a good player. He played 1000 games and avg 14pts and 5apg. no way he was a disappointment. he was probably close to what Lowry is now but he could never make ASG because of Nash, Parker, Kobe, and Ray Allen.

Stevie Franchise was far more exciting and compelling then Bibby ever was. Maybe Bibby was built for the playoffs more as his stats did improved. Just because the rest of the top picks pan out doesn't mean Bibby lived below expectations. 14ppg and 5 freaking assists is good?? :mjlol:

You just gonna disrespect Antawn Jamison like that?

I wanted to strangle Jamison with that ugly-ass shot that always looked broke as fukk whenever there was the slightest pressure in the moment.

Jamison was a classic "nice guy in the regular season" player. He could be a good scorer and decent rebounder for you 82 games a year. Come the playoffs, and his low-percentage shooting, broke shot from the outside, and lack of defense come up to bite like a motherfukker.

His entire career, he NEVER did anything for a team that mattered. Won TWO playoff series in his entire career - Bibby twice won more than that in a single season.

What is Jamison's career playoff highlight? Getting swept in a joke of a 1st-round series by Lebron in 2007? :lolbron:

I'm not taking a guy who could only win two playoff series in his entire fukking career, who wasn't even ever an All-NBA player or the best player on his team, and saying that he "clearly" had a better career than someone who was a breath away from winning a title while carrying his team for a lot of it.

Hell, I'm not even sure that Jamison wouldn't trade his own career for Bibby's, for a chance to at least make a run a few times and make some legit teams sweat.

Plus I always have to do a double-take when I'm typing his damn name. :francis:

Lol, he played without 2 all stars that series. His best support that series was fukking Antonio Daniels.

Not that I think they'd have won with Arenas/Butler anyway :lolbron:

Basketball is a team game. Mike Bibby wasn't leading any teams. Everyone knows that Sac team was Webber and Stojakovic. Bibby simply played his part. What team was Antawn Jamison on that was expected to win? The Cavs when he teamed with LeBron? LOL

You mention Jamison's lack of All NBA teams, when Bibby was never selected to one either. At least Jamison made two All Star teams while Bibby, who was the SECOND pick, didn't make any.

They're overrating Bibby based on a couple of Playoff Series. If that's the case, where's the argument for Jet? If you're a fan, you're a fan, but let's not act like he was ever a star. He was a tertiary level player with a couple of good playoff series. Even after '02, he was back to 15 & 5 in reg season. Without even looking it up, I bet his numbers are identical to Cat's. Cat prob edges him in scoring and he has Cat in apg, probably identical to Jet, identical to Flight Bro #2, prob respectively similar to Al Harrington....

And I'm 36. The '98 draft was my Fr year in college, so I'm definitely old enough to remember.
