I'm confused about the arrest rate argument...are we saying because the nhl has the lowest arrest rate that there should be virtually no coverage of nhl players that do get arrested?

Are we saying "well since football players get caught up in domesitc abuse scandals a lot and nhl players hardly ever get caught up in domestic abuse scandals then we are going to cover every football related domestic abuse scandal and we are not going to cover any nhl domestic abuse scandals"

Jarret Stoll get's popped for coke and mdma...i think i saw one little news blip about it on espn...funny since he is dating a big name sports personality like aryan andrews...i mean erin andrews...

FSU running back gets caught up in some domestic dispute case and it's on espn every time i leave it on the channel longer than 5 minutes...

So you can be a white hockey player making millions and get popped with hardcore drugs while dating a woman who is a household name as a sideline reporter...and the media won't touch that...

But if you a black kid playing college football for free and you get caught up in a domestic dispute...the media can't wait to get their hands on it...

Stoll randomly had those drug charges dropped to...pretty shocking that getting caught with coke and molly got bumped down to breach of peace and trespassing...
dude was all over TMZ when that happened....
...and Andrews wasnt seen with him while that shyt was going down (I only know that because they said it on TMZ).

And Patrick Kane (I think that was him) was all over Chicago news when he got in trouble w/ that cab driver.

Has anyone brought up the fact that half the league isnt American?
They probably arent even in the states in the off season.

Like anything else...you dont notice it because you arent sensitive to it.
Same way you notice red cars when you have a red car.

First, there is no field in hockey. It is ice. But, I get that you meant off-the-ice issues.

Second, I've been following ice hockey for a very long time. I don't know why there are more arrests in NFL and NBA than MLB and NHL. There have been multiple DUI arrests when it comes to NHL players. I don't know how many domestic assaults occur that don't get reported, or if they just don't happen as often.

It has more to do with the simple fact that the majority of players come from countries with lower crime rates than America.

Espn actually held back on doing coverage on the rape case involving big ben, look it up

Exactly and they have held back on info or buried it for black athletes before. These kats on here either dumb or they are playing dumb or they just young as fukk.

It's hockey
Nobody cares about or knows 99% of the players in the damn league.

If Patrick Kane got a DUI and killed someone, beat his wife viciously or some shyt that would be all over the news cause people actually know who the fukk he is.

More people know about FSU football than most hockey teams.

Cause NHL is not popular like NFL and NBA .. its literally a sport where refs allow their players to fight on the rink as well

They barely even show the Stanley Cup on ESPN and other major sports networks :mjlol:

Act like Big Ben ain't get ridiculed after those false accusations

Act like Tony Stewart wasn't headline news for weeks after he hit that dude with his car and act like he wasn't called a murderer by the media.

:dahell: nikka walked away freely. nikka barely made the news

nikka we got bruce jenner killing people and nobody cares cuz he is caitlyn now :dahell:

how blind do you gotta be :dahell:

Man I'm telling you.

Coming from the US to live in Canada the past couple of years I can say that the coverage is COMPLETLY diffrent in the 2 countries.

TSN almost completely focuses on Hockey during the NHL season while ESPN dedicates only a short segment to it on Sportscenter a day.

I realize now Canada keeps the NHL an earning league, even the US teams get more coverage here because they are full of Canadian players.

Like night and day Breh.
