Why Wont the NBA fix its conference setup?! Grizzlies, Pelicans should be in East!

So in order to make the the conference disparity fairer you propose sending arguably the most promising East team in Milwaukee in exchange for a flabby West team in Memphis

Gotta take the good with the bad. I like the Bucks, but I want the NBA to be the best product it can be. You can't say this a bad idea.

Nah. It doesnt explain that. I was wondering the same also. I think maybe the NBA can just take the 24 best players from either conference and just divide them up into two teams. You'd have 4 from West, 4 from Central and 4 from East on each of the two allstar teams. This would be very interesting. Imagine LBJ, KD and Steph on the same all star squad.

I understand and agree. I'm not speaking from that standpoint though. I'm speaking in general, this would be best for the league overall.

If you want better playoffs you have to have less playoffs. It's that simple and there is no way around this. You have way too many teams, playing way too many games in sport with very little variance. The only way to improve the playoffs is to cut the number of teams that get in, cut the number of rounds, or cut the number of games. That said, you don't have to re-align the league to change the playoff format. It wouldn't take much to change to a 1-16 format.
