Why not, if you can afford it? Though it's getting overpriced, fact of the matter is that NYC has a lot to offer, and the overwhelming majority of people don't need a large house with 4+ bedrooms, 2-car garage, and 4 cars in the driveway.
I disagree when people like to act like it's the Greatest City In the World, though. New Yorkers need to relax with their city pride sometimes.

There's no city in this country with more to offer.
From resturants, to sporting events(all star, Super Bowl, us open, boxing ), concerts, festivals, beaches , boating, nightlife , culture, 24 hour access to everything, 3 major airports with direct flights everywhere, cruise terminals, shopping etc etc
Personally I take advantage of all of this and I am not rich, the trade off is cold ass weather maybe 1/3rd of the year and high rent... For me the Pros greatly outweigh the cons.I've lived in 2 other states and nothing compares to what this city has to offer..
If you don't value what NY offers om don't live here. Me I need everything at my fingertips

A lot of you southern nikkas live in place where you gotta fly from your city to Charlotte or Atlanta just to fly anywhere.im spoiled nikka.. I'm LGA -> where ever the fukk no layovers.

When you could live in a much less expensive place with better weather and opportunities? There's:
Miami
Houston
San Diego
Memphis
Atlanta
Dallas
Just to name a few. Other than family reasons or you're in the entertainment business, makes zero sense

New York's weather isn't that bad.
Its not that cold in the winter and summers don't get that hot and NYC still experience a 4 seasons

I prefer Northeast weather than any other weather. We actually have stable seasons imo. So yeah I'm staying my ass in NY. The only city on the list I may move to in the future would be Atlanta, because my father lives there.
