This whole idea of black folks leavin the U.S is mostly bullshyt. The idea of leavin something that we built from the ground up is defeatist talk.

Why can't we build our own wealth and economic base from within like Asians and Mexicans. I do think it is a good idea for American black folks to work with and network with Africans tho.

But throwing in the towel instead of actually fighting and solving the issues that we have is crazy talk.

Yeah we built this country, but the foundation is steeped in inequality. It's a corrupt system at its core. Now of course we can continue to fight it out here, but migrating back to Africa isn't "throwing in the towel", its taking the fight global. You don't just move to Africa and the struggle is over, its redefining the rules of the struggle. Africa is a rich continent and if we were able to build up Africa we would have a stronger position globally in the fight. And of course there is corruption and conflict throughout Africa aswell, but there is also opportunity for growth and development in ways that are not possible here.

Canada is nice I have family there if you're taking social programs and just enough multiculturalism then its cool, but in terms of the Black experience it doesn't even come close to America let alone places in Africa or the Caribbean. That is if you're looking for culture.

As for the holocaust thing, I've always been down for us - as in, Black Americans - making our own country. But that's us. I have a shared experience with black Americans, and I've never thought of that same link with Africans. I haven't been abroad to Africa, so maybe you're right. I'll take your word for it.
