There was an epic Jokic vs Giannis game last night.

And yet lead with this.

That's the problem. Time could have been spent (to start) on if the Bucks are becoming a threat in the east or is healthy Giannis going to be the best player in the league or not.

To me its about balancing criticism and actually talking basketball. Bron's comments should have been like a 3rd or 4th topic.

Exactly, we had a dope Giannis/Jokic matchup and Steph dropping 50+. And SAS continues to purposely miss the point. Talk about the play on the fukking court, why should people give a fukk about the on court play if you a) don't talk about it and/or b) talk about shyt that happened 20-30-40 years ago and try to shyt on today. There's no balance, there's great talent in today's game but if you're a casual fan you wouldn't know based on the media shytting on the product.

Even during the peak of the Hot Take era

Jokic/Giannis is the first debate topic or Steph dropping damn near 60.

No other major league allows its media partners to constantly shyt on the product. It has a knock-on effect of reducing fan interest.

The job of Chuck, Shaq, JVG, etc in every other league is to hype up the product and sell positive interest stories about the players to keep fans invested.

Meanwhile the NBA seems to be just fine with Turner Sports and ESPN shytting all over the product for social media "engagement." It's letting former players and coaches do a constant stream of nostalgia and "back-in-my-day" bullshyt that's putting the league on precarious footing in terms of future interest.

Just an ass-backwards strategy that leads to debacles like that last all-star game. Pathetic. The NBA is very fortunate that media conglomerates are going all in on live-sports investments as the last pillar holding up all their live tv and livestreaming infrastructure.

Hit dogs holler and SAS is hollering like a MF

He’s had this weird schtick where he attacks LeBron for literally everything for awhile now. It really started when LeBron called him out for that report where SAS said he wanted to punch Kyrie for leaving

Ever since then he’s been MASSIVELY in his feelings

One thing I find very evil and treacherous about basketball media is how they make these lofty/inaccurate comparisons with young players just so they can attack them when they struggle. They did it with Booker, Tatum, Ant and I guarantee they're gonna do it to SGA.

And this is why I say these nikkas are a cancer to the game. Everybody wondering why Tatum isn't being pushed as the face of the league and I say his image never recovered from the hate he got for struggling in the 22 Finals. He was the future of the league after the Nets series.

But when he played bad in the finals against GS, everybody shyt on him and it's continued ever since. Even when he was playing on one leg in Game 7 against Miami, you still had folks shytting on him. I ain't even a Boston fan and that pissed me off.

And now you got the same idiots in the media wondering who the next face of the league is when they've been shytting on every potential candidate for years because they aren't perfect, while ignoring the MANY flaws and struggles of the past players they prop up.

They need to get up outta here ASAP

They only want a face of the NBA

So they can put him against Jordan. And then bash him for not being Jordan

With that said, our generation of media might do the same for Bron Steph KD

Jordan was labeled a selfish player/a loser/can't win the big game player/ball hog that didn't work well with others/cocky arrogant

Jordan got his fair share of criticism when it was Magic and Bird league
Before he won and before he was the face. You just said yourself it was Magic/Birds league...he was on the come up. All that stuff went out the window the moment he won a ring. Used to be you got scrutinized on the come up and once you became the face (and won) it was all glowing or ignoring your shortcomings unless you just did some outrageous shyt. And you got more money and opportunities. Now its the opposite. The moment you become the face or close to it, all the scrutiny starts. You can chill under the radar and get props with no scrutiny on the come up now and all the money is slotted and everybody got a brand . In short, there used to be a benefit to being the face (financial and coverage). Now there isnt.
