He's a West Coast kid, white millionaire who would be living in PortlandDidn't Lamarcus Aldridge say he wanted to go Cleveland if Love leaves?
Theres no way Love would do a sign-in-trade with Portland because he does not want to play there.
That would mean Cleveland was in position to get another Superstar and keep Wiggins.
of COURSE he would play there.Thing is they didnt make the tradeNot a trade but they were trying to sign Jason Kidd back in 03 to a max deal when they already had a 21 year old Tony Parker on the roster who they had just won a championship with because Pop felt he was an unproven flawed player and Kidd was one of the best, if not the best PG in the league at that time
Thing is they didnt make the trade
So it only lends credit to the fact spurs method of drafting great character players and guys that fit the team dynamic. A lot of potential trades have been brought up for every franchise over the years but sometimes the trades teams end up not making can change fortunes
Whats the biggest trade the spurs have ever made?
Looks like the spurs ended up good anywayThey didn't go through with it because Jason Kidd chose the Nets over them.

Name a great spurs player that wasnt drafted by them or trsded for in his prime
I believe perk was after the amnesty provision meaning his deal happened after the date in which ubcould cut a player and runAt this point, it's clearly Harden, regardless what certain posters will say.
He was still on his rookie deal when they dealt him. Their worst case scenario with Harden should have been a sign and trade the following summer if they REALLY didn't want to keep him. They also could have amnestied Perk. Who deals the third best player from a Finals team when he's 22-23?
The Wiggins trade could still wind up being really bad, depending on how he pans out and if Love bolts Cleveland. Love is still a damn good player though. OKC didn't get anyone close to Love's caliber for Harden.
Also, how would Wiggins have developed in Cleveland? LeBron demands the ball A LOT and when he doesn't have it, Kyrie does.
My point is this is the first time this has they will be getting a marquee guy to sign and thats after 5 championshipsThe best players in their franchise history have been homegrown. Nothing wrong with that.
But if they could get those guys they would. Example: They went after Jason Kidd in 2003, they went after Pau Gasol last offseason, they're expected go after Aldridge or Marc Gasol this offseason.
Nah, he signed his deal before the lockout when the amnesty clause was implemented. He was eligible.I believe perk was after the amnesty provision meaning his deal happened after the date in which ubcould cut a player and run
