It's easily the Harden trade. All we know about Wiggins right now is that he's a solid defender and one of the least efficient scorers in the league.

Didn't Lamarcus Aldridge say he wanted to go Cleveland if Love leaves?

Theres no way Love would do a sign-in-trade with Portland because he does not want to play there.

That would mean Cleveland was in position to get another Superstar and keep Wiggins.
He's a West Coast kid, white millionaire who would be living in Portland :eat: of COURSE he would play there.

Not a trade but they were trying to sign Jason Kidd back in 03 to a max deal when they already had a 21 year old Tony Parker on the roster who they had just won a championship with because Pop felt he was an unproven flawed player and Kidd was one of the best, if not the best PG in the league at that time
Thing is they didnt make the trade
So it only lends credit to the fact spurs method of drafting great character players and guys that fit the team dynamic. A lot of potential trades have been brought up for every franchise over the years but sometimes the trades teams end up not making can change fortunes

Whats the biggest trade the spurs have ever made?

They didn't go through with it because Jason Kidd chose the Nets over them.

If Love doesn't get hurt this bad trade shyt dies by the end of the postseason. The Cavs are probably Finals locks for the next three more years barring any great free agent move in the East; that's probably not the case if Wiggins stays. Cleveland is in win now mode.

At this point, it's clearly Harden, regardless what certain posters will say.

He was still on his rookie deal when they dealt him. Their worst case scenario with Harden should have been a sign and trade the following summer if they REALLY didn't want to keep him. They also could have amnestied Perk. Who deals the third best player from a Finals team when he's 22-23?

The Wiggins trade could still wind up being really bad, depending on how he pans out and if Love bolts Cleveland. Love is still a damn good player though. OKC didn't get anyone close to Love's caliber for Harden.

Also, how would Wiggins have developed in Cleveland? LeBron demands the ball A LOT and when he doesn't have it, Kyrie does.

Let's see here. Cleveland went from the lottery to the Finals within a year of making the Wiggins trade and Wiggins squad is still shytty. Conversely the Thunder have yet to reach the heights without Harden that they did with him AND they created another contender in their own conference. Not sure how this is even a debate. Wiggins has to actually become the guy he has the potential to be before you can even think about making this comparison.

Looks like the spurs ended up good anyway

Name a great spurs player that wasnt drafted by them or trsded for in his prime

The best players in their franchise history have been homegrown. Nothing wrong with that.

But if they could get those guys they would. Example: They went after Jason Kidd in 2003, they went after Pau Gasol last offseason, they're expected go after Aldridge or Marc Gasol this offseason.

I believe perk was after the amnesty provision meaning his deal happened after the date in which ubcould cut a player and run

Nah, he signed his deal before the lockout when the amnesty clause was implemented. He was eligible.

*sees the same nonsensical talking points for both trades*

I can't wait until the OKC/Cleveland Finals matchup next season.

Harden trade was for sure worse. Wiggins was never going to play in Cleveland once Bron came back cause of the alleged Rich Paul situation and Bron wanting Kevin Love on the Cavs.

Both trades aren't that bad

Like @jaguar paw saud, Wiggins wouldn't have reached his star potential playing 3rd fiddle to Bron and Kyrie
OKC got Steven Adams out of it and Lamb who has potential(he just needs playing time)

Outside of the Deron Williams and Wiggins' trades , you usually don't receive equal value for trading All-Stars.
