They need to cut all ties with the Wii brand, the NX should be a clean slate with no Wii shyt holding the console/handheld back. Just my opinion anyway.:yeshrug:

The best thing they could do is just remaster the Wii U's best games in the NX (hell, everybody's doing it, why not Nintendo?) Zelda U for the NX is %99.99 happening at this point and word is that Smash 4 is getting a NX version as a launch game.

Nah, the Wii brand is tainted in the gaming community. Nintendo needs to move on.

Nit saying to keep the wii brand, clearly that is dead. But they could still be backwards compatible...the pro controller is dope, they just need to stop relying on gimmicks clearly.

And people really think its top 5 woat? disapointing yes, but come on brehs...

Backwards compatibility will be pointless since there's only a handful of truly must have Wii U games to play.

Plus it's not like those games aren't getting new iterations on the NX. (Cept for Bayonetta 2).

All of the negativity is very bothersome considering that the Wii U has superior games to whatever is on the PS4/XB1. Nintendo following Microsoft's and Sony's is a bad strategy. The market can't support 3 high powered $300-500 consoles. Nintendo should have embraced their role as the cheap alternative console (like the Wii). The Wii U failed because of lack of 3rd party support, too expensive, and not enough games. People also seem to have short term memory and forgot that the original Wii dominated the PS3/XB360. But hey let's just sweep that under the rug because Nintendo is too kiddy and we don't like it.

Vilifying a company for trying to innovate is pretty stupid. Sony and Microsoft just steals ideas (i.e.: VR, motion controller, etc.). At least Nintendo tries something new. Some times they will fail. That's why it's called 'taking a risk'.

No thanks. That would be boring as fukk.

I don't know how many times it has to be said that Nintendo isn't in competition with those two before it sinks in for people.

As long as Nintendo stays profitable they do not care what Sony or Ms does.

Ms will be out of the industry before Nintendo.

This. Nintendo has enough cash on hand to run a defecit for 38 years. Plus pokemon is a cash cow and they're an icon in Japan. My grandchildren will be playing Nintendo games, and I ain't mad at it.

The Wii "dominated" sales wise, but was a garbage ass console. The Wii U is MUCH better in that regard because it didn't rely on a gimmick ass controller scheme. The Wii U name scared gamers off...nobody wanted to buy anything with the Wii name attached to it after Nintendo thew out the Wii in 2006 :scusthov:

Not sure why people have a tough time acknowledging this.

No...:usure: what scared gamers off was the subpar specs

And sidenote...people keep talking about the wii u's games etc...its library is highly overrated...there are only a few really good games...it was an awful console from top to bottom

20 years breh :comeon:
- Underpowered
- Overpriced
- Poor third party support
- no mainline Zelda game until 4 years in
- 1-2 great games per year tops
- annoying tablet gimmick
- horrible retail sales
- dumb decisions like no ethernet port on the back (explains everyone lagging online)

PS1, PS2, PS3, N64, Gamecube, Dreamcast, Xbox, Xbox 360 were all better. Even the Wii, at least that thing sold and had Super Mario Galaxy. Nintendo needs to step it up. :yeshrug:

The shyt must burn. Nintendo and Sega were my squads as a kid. My last system from them was the GC and that was my 2nd chance after the fukkery of the 64. I haven't bought Nintendo consoles since.

Which is a really damn shame because hardware power isn't as important as having a fun gaming experience. Today's gamers have their priorities out of whack.

Well in this generation so far:
RPG: Xenoblade X is superior to Fallout 4.
Action: Baonetta 2 is the best.
FPS/TPS/Shooting: Splatoon is way more fun than Call of Duty/Halo
Racing: Mario Kart 8 is way more fun than Gran Turismo/Forza Motorsports/Need for Speed
Fighting: C'mon.....you'd rather play Street Fighter than Super Smash Bros?
