How does one create self made hype if the results don't pan out? He could talk about himself until he's blue in the face but if he's not producing results then it doesn't matter...

Ok so he didn't go 6-0 in finals...that means he never lived up to the hype as going down as one of the best basketball players EVER??? again I ask tell me another athlete that has had this amount of attention since he was 16 and has delivered in any sport?

You're ignoring the fact that since he's been in the league, he, Nike, ABC, ESPN, etc. have allowed himself to be hyped as the greatest ever. He permitted himself to be compared to best player to have played in the modern era (Michael Jordan). So, by virtue of setting MJ as the standard to which he aspired (and wanted others to view him like), he fell short by: 1. failing to get 6 rings, 2. failing to dominate the league as its de facto best player for the majority of his career, 3. forming multiple super teams to win and then leaving when those teams' respective windows of opportunity start to close, 4. having a piss-poor 2011 NBA Finals (by his standards and that set by MJ). In other words, he failed to reach MJ's level. Thus, he failed to live up to the hype.

No.

Unless he plans to win the next two championships over the Warriors his argument against Jordan's isn't even that sound. That's not taking away from his greatness, it's just Jordan's dominance was so consistent once he got going. There was no finals defeats, no creating super teams, none of that shyt. Just 2 3-peats and general dominance.

Jordon wouldn't have lost 4 finals....plus like u said..total dominance. Nobody gonna be able to top that...at least not in near future...probably not ever.

Only other 2 players that one can reasonably vouch for are: Russell and Kareem.

I see we are debating 2 different things so we can agree to disagree...my original point which you quoted first..I said "No Lebron will not pass MJ as the greatest ever and that's not a terrible thing"...the fact that people are even having a discussion of where he ranks all time in the history of the game, in my eyes proves he's lived up to the hype of being one of the greatest ball players EVER.....and I have asked you more than once who else has had this much attention since they were 16 and has accomplished what he has and you still have no answer for that...

Why do you'll put down the east you can only play who's in front of you besides there was no competition in the west back in the 80s the 2000s and 2010s east shyts on the 80s west...and how are his stats inflated that argument literally makes no sense

But no one compares Kareem and Magic, for example, to Jordan, and they still got more rings than Lebron even with the east being stacked. Kareem leads the NBA in scoring but no one dares to say he's greater than Jordan, even with 5 rings to heat up the discussion :jbhmm:
Kobe got 22 injuries throughout his career and got 5 in 7 but nikkas marginalize him out of the top 10 for some reason.
Duncan anchoring defenses at 37 and trashing a super team in the finals and no one puts him in the top 3 :gucci:.

Lebron gets a free pass to the top 3 because people get brainwashed about it everyday, he has nothing to back up being put in the top 3 other than the media's attention he gets, the ads and him embracing all this most importantly. His consecutive finals appearances are not that incredible and that should be his most "mind blowing" achievement.

I doubt he's getting any more rings unless he plays for the vet minimum and goes to the Pelicans or something :mjlol:

3 chips 4 mvps all NBA defense classic playoff performances has been the best player in the league for about the past seven years and counting he's one of the most versatile players the game has ever seen career averages of 27 7 7 2 and 1 with incredible efficiency exciting to watch, he's chopping down the record book and when it's all said and done might finish with more points than anyone in league history while also being top 10 in assist and he's coming off two of the greatest finals performances ever seen if that's not goat worthy I don't know what the hell is...last year people were saying lebron was slowing down despite the fact that he was averaging like 25 8 and 6 if that's falling off and leaving your prime then that tells you just how highly as a player you're regarded lebron is held to a different as of standards and what's crazy is that he's met and surpassed them all......If you're a true hoop fans you gotta respect it
