i'd be interesting in seeing what most of these dudes descendants look like. i'm betting more than half are living their lives as caucasians present day.

but yeah, i agree with will, only thing is dudes like him should be leading the effort. yeah, all blacks have to change their mindframe and spending habits. but dude, you have over 200 million dollars. you're friends with other black multi-millionaires as well. why aren't they linking up to invest in black neighborhoods? will, kanye, diddy, oprah, jordan, magic could link up and collectively build grocery stores, restaurants, movie theatres, schools and other businesses in most predominately black neighborhoods. these are strong investments in black neighborhoods that'd pay off long after they die.

man, just thinking about how blacks socially integrated with cacs and left their own community and structure behind makes me sick to my stomach. i understand believing the white mans ice is colder, but i cant help but imagine how things would look if blacks pushed for real separate but equal.

Because businesses are not meant to be run like charities
Many black owned business and schools have failed for a reason, despite the fact of public awareness.
There is no such thing as consumer loyalty in the black community
You open a grocery and have to compete with Walmart
A famous black person cannot really publicise such broad

Fascism and rampant poverty being commonplace. :wow:

On top of ratchet shyt being promoted. Regardless, you gotta fight against them. Can't just give up, or else they gonna have the world in a prison.

Its more like an individual fight, with the collective being complacent and defeated.
Only the Spartan bred blacks should lead the fight

I agree with Will. Systematic racism/White Supremacy is the reason why we are in the position we are in, but we can't depend on any other group to help us. Other groups are going to say fukk us, so we have no choice but to do for self. This is different from what Kendrick said.

who said anything about running businesses like charities? all the other groups that have come into black neighborhoods to vacuum money out aren't running businesses like charities.

and i disagree with the assertion that there is no consumer loyalty in the black community, we just dont have the options. if there were black coca-cola, black-ford/chrysler/gmc, black-krogers, black-anything to compete with the companies we already patronize, i'm 100% certain blacks would support them.

and if anyone could publicize their brand, it'd be black celebs. they're already steering youth into purchasing jewish/white owned goods; wouldn't be that hard to promote your own.

Because you would need to employ similar tactics to survive in the business world.
And who would finincial bailout major black owned businesses?
And I am sure such major black owned business would have been bought by whites.
A Black coca cola would be owned by white coca cola.
Its a lot harder then you think,to promote something that isn't already associated with status by default, in the black community.
An example would be that I could build an organic fruit and veg store in the mainly black area, but blacks would rather shop at Walmart,McDonald's etc

Someone beats your ass and robs you. Leaves you laying in the gutter.. you still able bodied.. How long do you lay there screaming at the top of your lungs about your feelings before you get up, dust off, and get back on grind?
Why kind of stupid shyt is this

So to all the people who co-signed his statement, how do you feel about him saying racism isn't a problem in Hollywood?:mjpls:
You know how people like to cherry pick

"There’s sort of an accepted myth that if you have two black actors, a male and a female, in the lead of a romantic comedy, that people around the world don’t want to see it."- :mjpls:

Director Irvin Kershner first offered you the part of Lando Calrissian in The Empire Strikes Back but you wanted back to Earth after Alien. Over the scope of your career, any regrets for roles you passed up or lost?

Yeah! Blue Thunder was written by Dan O'Bannon specifically for me. And I'm not in it because the producer of Alien, Gordon Carroll, would not allow me to play that role because my skin was black and he was wrong. I was even told by the studio that my name can't be first in the Alien credits because people might think it's a black movie! They ended up giving me a solo line right across the screen. And then they had the nerve to call and ask me if I'd change out my billing because it was interfering with their poster artwork. I told them to go to hell. No one in Alien was as well known as me! I'm still pissed off I didn't do Blue Thunder. They told me they couldn't show a black man going crazy in a helicopter. What, are we all Martin Luther King? Who gets to play the part? Roy Scheider.

Any other notable movies you were refused due to race?

Minority Report was written for me. It ends up in Tom Cruise's hands and changed. It was adapted by Ron Shusett for Yaphet Kotto. If I was white I would have been playing those roles. If I told you all the big movies that went to white actors that were written for me because of racism you'd be shocked.

The bigger question is why only 1 black wall street was in existence back then when they could have spread the blueprint and made a lot more black wallstreets to make an even stronger black community.
What are talking, they had whole bunch of great black community that was burn down each time after BWS during that period

what's wrong with using similar tactics to survive as long as you're producing and hiring your own? the goal is to profit and the end of the day. outside of banks, what businesses in black neighborhoods being bailed out by the government? i agree that white owned companies buy out smaller businesses on the come up. but that's because black business owners choose to cash out. if cacs offered me 100 mil for a business thats earning me 300k, i'd sell it too. but those in the position that's interested in building could afford to take that initial hit if they chose to. i'm not saying its easy, but we'll support black businesses and black owned products if given an equal alternative.

Or. Just answer the question. Let's skip ahead.

We waiting on the Mother ship to scoop us up and save us. If there's an 'out' to this it's not coming from above, it's coming from within.

This is parallel.

Will smith was talking about Ferguson, which doesnt even make any sense when someone kill your kid

Nobody ask him about black ppl waiting for white to fix the community

Nobody ask him when white ppl will fix the black community

Nobody said black ppl waiting for white ppl to fix the community

Now go ahead with the Ferguson reference

The difference I took from them was that Will didn't suggest some dumb ass shyt like "respect yourself" or "pull up your pants" and he didn't attack the protesters like Kendrick did.

I took what Will said as to fight back how we can, which includes fighting white supremacy.
