@stealthbomber explain yourself bruh....u can't write off Future then say the book is open on Jcole.....if its open for him its open for Wale and everybody....if Future do turn superstar its gon be off musicmusic alone and not drama and fukkery which is damn near impossible to do in this day n age bcuz it wuz hard before the innanets and everybody wanting to know your business.
I want future to blo but superstardom I don't know if he up for it,but I just hope he get to the level of star among hiphop fans where hiphop fans is forced to throw in the towel and check for em even when they claim to hate em....u closin the door on Future just outta spite future fans closin the door on everybody you love
Its crazy to me 2chainz didn't hit that superstar mark, and ain't even in discussions now....he had the streets heavy, sum crossover appeal....don't know what's missin.
i like future for what he is, but lets be all the way real. to be a rap superstar u gotta be able to rap plain and simple. all the fukkery naturally happens as you become more famous and people put a spotlight on u 24/7.
wayne kanye and eminem in the 2000s were THEM nikkaS. they could do no wrong and had hits even beyond the radio. they were tearing the charts up and had the streets (ok the e-steets
) on lock. their music will be appreciated by people forever.future... i mean the dude is nice and had a great year last year and is up for another good one in 2013. but is he gonna drop album after album that people are gonna eat up? will he have solo songs that become part of american culture? will he still be around in 10 years?
i doubt it.i said j cole because he had a successful debut album, good radio singles, backpackers love him, older cats like his style, and he can rap. only thing holding him back is himself. he's so reserved and not out there like super stars of the past idk if he'll be entertaining to people in the twitter/instagram generation.

Listeners and the general public are too reluctant to give their attention to a popular rapper, instead opting for the lesser known underground choice who, most of the time, lacks the star power or the interest to become the next big thing. That in turn squeezes and sifts out the very few underground rappers who have a mere sliver of stardom and forces them to be propelled into the limelight. Take a look at Kendrick, J. Cole, Wale, Meek, etc. They're not stars by any means but they've been shoved down our throats as such. Drake and Nicki are definitely the two new megastars of today, but their current music is hardly considered hip-hop to be quite honest.
. the obsession with underground and backpacker lyrical rappers has crippled mainstream legitimacy and ultimately it discourages new artists to broaden their horizons and give in to industry demands every once in a while
. Also, you can't be big if you don't have a mentor or a huge co-sign. Kanye had Jay, Drake has Wayne, Em Snoop and 50 had Dre, Wayne has Birdman, and so forth
... Oh and they also have to have a larger than life character or a kind of messiah complex. And finally, the most important thing: hits. No hits = no starpower. And I'm talking Billboard Top 5, platinum 2 months in kind of hits, not those borderline hits everyone talks about.

).....even 2 chainz had a respect level lyrics wise.....so I gotta say u right as far as what history has shown.
