Why are the Lebron stans shytting on Wilt in here :dwillhuh:
Nobodies shytting on wilt, just pointing out the hypocrisy from nikkas that criticize bron with their arbitrary talking points while propping up a nikka that those same criticisms apply to tenfold.

These same dudes will say bron ain’t top 5 cuz 3-6 and weak east then say 2-6 finals wilt playing in the 60s is top 5. :mjlol:

Bron stans are stat nerds, yet wilt is only in their top 5 cuz of his stats, cuz it damn sure isn’t because of winning. Make it make sense. :unimpressed:

FTs were mental, they are for a lot of players. Wilt had midrange turnaround jumper and fadeaway, and he often refused to dunk so people wouldn't throw that criticism at him. You also have to consider fatigue, and that dudes would hit him so hard and hang on him to the point where he considered saying fukk it and retiring in the middle of his prime
Again, a few highlights of him hitting a shot mean nothing when he's not hitting them consistently in games. This is a guy shooting 50% inside the lane, that's only happening when you miss a LOT of shots.

And the hitting/hanging bytching was just Wilt bytching. In all the games I've watched from Wilt I have NEVER seen a single gamefilm where he was getting hung on like that by the defense on a regular basis, when it happened it was just a one-off.

Here is actual game footage. Why isn't Wilt using all that away-from-the-basket skill he's supposed to have? Why are his teammates throwing up terrible shots instead if Wilt could just be dropping the ball in from 10 feet away?

He's not asking Wilt to move from the post. He's saying he's head and shoulders physically dominant, working in the post, and still was shooting 50%.
Exactly.

He more than likely did work fast and early at a high clip knowing he could grab the rebound

I doubt that many of his possessions went far into the shot clock once it hit him on the block

A barrage of shot attempts and strength is hard to defend

Why not take a more efficient shot first and then still get the rebound if you miss? :usure:

Here's some more actual gameplay. If he has that whole skillset at his disposal, why not use it? It's Game 7 of the Finals and you're behind, DO SOMETHING!

p.s. - they called a LOT of meh fouls in that era. This is the Finals and the refs were not swallowing their whistles at all.

p.p.s. - Wilt's effort on defense and rebounding is a bit pathetic there, especially for a Finals Game 7. Look at the lazy free throw leading to the gimme shot with no challenge at 1:40, no challenge against at 2:25, no effort to stop the transition bucket at 3:45, no challenge at all on the short-range shot at 4:30, no attempt to get the rebound at 4:45 and letting the little guard fly in and pick it up....basketball in that era is legit hard to watch.

Got to account for the era, the pacing, the rules, etc. Wilt was the league leader in FG% 9x in his career. Can't do a lot more than be the best :heh:
And other players from that era attested to what they did to Wilt throughout his career - it wasn't just Wilt bytchin.

Somehow cats gonna claim this tells you more than the fact he shot under 46% from the line in six different seasons including 38% in 1968.

Low-key Wilt was a terribly inefficient shooter away from the basket. In his high-scoring days he hovered around 50% from the field despite having 4-5" extra height and a ton more athleticism than his average defender. With all the dunks and gimmes that he made automatically, think about how many short-range shots he had to have missed for his shooting % to end up so low.

But y'all don't want to hear facts.... :francis:

Can't agree with this. I think there is an Iverson effect where the offense was designed for him to shoot everything and (in his case) get his own rebs. There was often noone else in a position to put up better shots in his teams.

Game 7 of 69' Finals is Wilt's weird moment on the grand stage. Was hurt? Did he quit? Idk... but it's always going to fuel arguements against him. Every other GOAT has suspect Finals performances (Kareem,Kobe,Steph,Bron etc). The only ATG without those blemishes is Jordan basically. That's why he's the GOAT to most.
