It's about 180 days for non genuine.People have been steering you into the wrong direction breh so check this,
Microsoft will allow you to upgrade to Windows 10 for free even without a genuine copy (from articles I've read). but the kicker is this, you will maintain a watermark in the lower right hand side of the desktop which states your copy is not genuine. I forget the exact time frame you are given, but you're allowed to use the new Win10 for a set amount of time then you are forced to either pay for the copy or something else happens (I forgot what happens when you don't pay).
It is only $119 for a genuine Windows10 home edition. just pay that. or better yet, buy a copy of windows 8 or 8.1 at a cheap price (under 100 bones) then upgrade.
It's too dangerous to not run a genuine copy of any software if you are not aware of how to download and install official patches and updates. trust me breh.

If you've purchased a phone, gaming system or any other device with a CPU in it, then yes... you've purchased plenty of Operating Systems since 98I've never bought an operating system ever since 98.
