Compare the pace and you'll see why Lebron is better statistically. Jordan got all his great stats in an era in which every team was avg over 100ppg and nobody was playing defense. An era that added 6 expansion teams. Golden State plays at the fastest pace in the current NBA but if you compare their pace to the teams of 80's and 90's it would be dead last. Expansion teams were avg over 100ppg, that's how bad the defenses were during Jordan's era, compare that to today's league in which only half the teams scored over 100ppg despite taking more 3's on average

Jordan got all his great stats running through the elbows of Ewing, Oakley and Smith. Zone defense was illegal back then so you had a guy man up on you at all times, now you have zone defense guys just sit back and jack up threes. Jordan's rings came against the heavyweights of the western conference. the Lakers, Jazz, Trailblazers. Supersonics and Suns. Who did LBJ beat.

Folks don't have to play 20 years for you to see if they're the greatest.

Barry Sanders and Jim Brown didn't have to play 15 years for you to know they were the greatest running backs.
Wayne Gretzky was 10 years old when he got called the great one and he proved it immediately when he turned professional. You didn't have to wait for him to retire.

If you gotta wait for the end of a 15 or 20 year career to enter the debate of the greatest, you aren't the greatest.

he is easily a better player than kobe IMO. kobe does not have nearly the same impact on a game because he is smaller.

lebron weighs about as much as karl malone. think about that. yet still usually the most athletic guy on the floor.
