Witcher 3. After fallout 4 Im not understanding the hype.

Witcher 3 was just to boring to me...

My most hyped game of the year and I just stopped playing it because it started feeling like such a chore...combat just boils down to parrying dodging and using igni...i need more than that if I am investing dozes of hours in a game

Fallout 4 is so much better..I probably put at least 60 hours into my first two playthroughs and I am already scheming up a character build for another one...

I don't even have Witcher 3 over DAI...

Seems like you just like FPS's than third person combat. Witcher 3 is far more varied in combat from an objective point of view. Spells, decoctions , oils, and traps. I very much enjoy Fallout 4 also, but I know W3 is the superior game when it comes to story telling and combat. Fallout has VATS, and that a lone has been keeping me interested in the series...it never gets boring decapitating or blowing off someone's head in slow-mo. With that said, I understand quite easily why W3 won GOTY...in every aspect it surpasses everything else.

Gameplay and the high amount of content is great and side stories feel like they have actual content but....

Game got boring after awhile.

It doesnt pull me in as much as other media like it does. The characters feel too dry.

You must be using some dull as human sword with an under leveled Geralt for nekkers to be tanking hits like that. All that aside the game is sooooooo overrated. Coming from a guy that beat it and put in hella hours. It's a beautiful built world and great lore but I can get the same thing in a movie and book. When it comes to everything game play related it really does fail, except for Gwent which I loved the most.

Yeah that usually happens to newbies with Witcher, they don't spec Quen and they don't realize the power of an oil. I have to disagree with the gameplay, aspect being bad, as it handled both using traps, spells and melee very well. Even more so now with the rune system.

I'm at you stopping at the Baron because you think you know where the game is going. Trust me, you don't. The Baron story arc is some of the best writing in gaming history.

Im on level 4 I believe....trying to find Ciri...

um, this isnt really fun, its taking 15 hits to kill a single nekker (there's 5) but they're killing me in just 4-5 hits. I dont wanna spend 20 min dodging and single hitting only to get that work once they surround me.

the fukk is going on here? when I watch tutorials Im seeing people slay them in 3 hits. I bought a new sword, but there's no area to buy a new silver sword (im assuming Im getting that work cause Ive had the same sword since level 1), all the stores show level 1 weapons.

You casual. Sound like you have no tactics. Fallout takes no skill. Witcher 3 takes a littttle more skill but not much. I don't know why you're having problems. Sad really

Didn't get DLC so i'm ignorant to Rune system. In general all my game judgments are based off the base game available upon release. I just feel witcher fight mechanics are weak and boring. Easily able to spam quick attack and only really need Igni or Quen. I'm not expecting some Kratos level of ass kicking in my fighting but it really is a snooze fest after you get into the middle of the story. Oils are not even needed. I just find the game to be average overall , the GOTY stuff really bugs me.

Trust me, Baron asking you for help is NOT some half-baked game mechanic out of dragon age. There's an important reason for it.

Witcher 3 is a game that did a promo talking about how they tackle real world issues like racism...and then every character in the game is white...

Fallout 4 is a game that gives you a choice of simulating the underground railroad...and then it actually lets you pick the race of the two most important people associated with those quest...and then it lets you choice what side of the story you want to be on...and even goes so far as to force you to kill the other side...

One of these things is good story telling...one of these things isn't...

And I am pretty sure Witcher 3 won game of the year because Fallout 4 hasn't even been out a full month yet...How could Fallout 4 even be nominated?

When did Witcher 3 even come out...in the spring?

The fact people are comparing a game that came out 6 months ago to a game that hasn't even been out 6 weeks speaks volumes about both of these games...

I was a Witcher stan all the way up until 3...I doubt I ever play another Witcher game again...

I have the Witcher 3 and don't enjoy the game. It's beautiful but too linear. I wish I never bought the game.
