What metric are you using to evaluate this?

Be illiterate, brehs. No mention of him not stopping the Rwandan Genocide in 1994?![]()
metric?
It's all opinion breh. Overrated is a relative term as it is. Just bc someone was overrated doesn't mean they were bad. People hold FDR way too highly and I think Reagan about right. For the record, Reagan is usually ranked around the 15th best president (Historical rankings of Presidents of the United States - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) which I think is about right. But his range is anywhere from 6th to 26th. Some of you all are so obsessed with neo-cons opinions you actually believe the mass population believes he's the greatest ever. FDR on the other hand is ranked top 3 in every single poll at the link. That's way overrated.
As far as Nixon goes, he was immensely popular until Watergate and for good reason. He ended the Vietnam War and re established relations with China. Can you think of another President that closely parallels that that has a sizable fanbase on this forum? I can...
You didn't really answer his question though.metric?

Clinton has gotten worse with time due to DOMA and the tougher on crime bill, but I'd still say is average.
Bush has gotten better mainly due to Medicare part D and the fact we eventually caught Bin Laden but still sucks.
Nah Reagan is top 5 and not overrated, neither is JFK.
Most overrated is FDR by a long shot.
You didn't really answer his question though.
Also Reagan is consistently ranked top 5, often number 1 even in popular opinion surveys. The range you cited weighted historians and academics.
Here's gallup poll from a few years ago where he ranked #1. Americans Say Reagan Is the Greatest U.S. President
So yes, he is overrated...ridiculously.
(you guys are going to love this) Glass-Steagall is a nearly 100 year old law that has little application today.
prop trading has effectively been banned via Dodd-Frank (or more specifically the Volcker Rule which is being implemented).
Low key Nixon is underrated depending on how u feel about ChinaNixon pre-Watergate
Which question?
You can't cite polls like that because 19% may say he's the greatest ever and the other 81% may say he's the worst. You can't be crowned the greatest in 44 way match-up with 19% of the vote.
And like I said, you can't only focus on am minority's extremely high opinion and say he's overrated overall because of it. If you said he's overrated among his core worshipers I would actually 100% agree with you, but the country as a whole has a much lesser opinion of him. But not that low (ABC poll in 2001 said he had 64% retrospective approval).
