If Stewart develops a consistent 3 he has a future as a 4. He has great feet/lateral quickness to defend on the perimeter so guarding 4s wouldn’t be an issue at all .

The question is will he develop that and even if he does do you want him over Bagley who doesn’t play D but is perfect for Cade on offense .

If Stewart doesn’t develop a three he’s a high level bench big .

Everybody don’t have to be a 3 point shooter. Stewart needs to be a double double threat and play good defense.

Bagley a pretty gifted offensive player. Think his shot will definitely develop before Stewarts. Really believe Bagley can start if they get a defensive center. Whether signing Mitchell Robinson , drafting Chet, Duran or Mark Williams with Portland pick. Cade just looks more comfortable with Bagley in the game. Bagley not Stewart needs the Ben Wallace mentorship. Doesn’t make sense to have Bagley size and athleticism but be such a poor defender. Bagley has size to play center. Chet/Bagley lineup could work too

He still defends with his hands and his anticipation is piss poor. It’ll be years before bagley can be a good center if it’s possible

I believe the story was Joe wanted Jon Amechi who the magic wouldn’t give up and he settled for Ben. And i just looked up Ben stats and he was getting 25-30 minutes a game :hubie:

Not his first couple of years in the league. First real minutes was the year before he joined the Pistons.

I have no idea who John Amaechi is :lolbron:

If you’re not a shooter you can’t play the 4 and Stewart isn’t a 5 you can win with (starting) He’s just too small. Unless he’s paired with a guy at the 4 that erases those shortcomings like a Mobley type .

if I had to choose rn I’d take Bagley over Stew
