You're conflating equal with equality and it's lazy. Men can't get pregnant, but women can, where's the "equality" in that? Equality means equal in status, both men and women get to decide what they should do with their own bodies even though men and women aren't equal, hence equality in status while not equal in more obvious areas.

The woman gets to decide what happens to the fetus she alone is carrying in her body, your understanding of equality would have us think that the solution here is for men to start carrying babies to term so both parties are on equal footing.

The argument is that if women get to decide to abort their responsibility physically and financially, then offer the man the option to abort financially.
