When you're depressed, the last thing most people want to do is talk to family and friends

You don't want them worried about you and your problems or you just don't want people in your business

That's the reason for putting on a facade like everything is alright

No one sees it coming because most depressed people deliberately keep it from everyone

You don't want to speak to people who do not understand you and/or understand what you are going through.

Part of not understanding is "worrying".

C'mon now ... :hhh:

One reason for why she would publish a "treatise" online including indepth revalations about how she was feeling is because crtically she wanted to be understood. If someone I knew wrote that then I would automatically know that something serious was wrong.

As a youth I used to wonder why people would need to pay professional strangers to talk to them about problems which they could easily share with their family. These days I know exactly why. (Privacy matters notwithstanding) most people are tone deaf when it comes to understanding other people.

I just don’t get it though, she had it all. Guess it’s not everything. This world we live in is crazy. The messed up thing about this is people will move on from this like it never happened, something has to change.
That is the way of the world, 14 billion years since the big bang all the way to 10^1000 years in the future.

"'I do a lot to make sure that I maintain my mental health and the most important thing that I did is talk to a counselor. She's really easy to talk to. She gives me great strategies especially if I'm sad or happy or have a busy month ahead of me.

'When I'm not talking to my counselor, I spend time at the end of every single day to just decompress,' Kryst said. 'I unplug, I shut my phone off, I don't answer messages. I just sit and watch my favorite movies.'"

Looking at her IG she was so pretty :mjcry:

R.I.P.

The crazy thing is that outside of her last IG post every other post didn't give an impression that she was depressed/suicidal.

She seemed like a normal happy woman.

"Kryst would often share her feelings to her Instagram followers and had said social media was all for show.

'My Instagram is my highlight reel and I want to look my best while I share a look at my life, my fun, and the body I'm proud of. But that's all it is. A fine-tuned glimpse into a moment in time. Don't allow what you see on here make you forget that I'm incredibly flawed; I simply chose not to share those flaws in a photo,' she wrote last June.

'And definitely don't compare your own flaws to what you see in this picture or any others on my page. It's not fair to compare 100% of yourself, your good days, bad days, and everything in between to a highly curated fraction of me on my best days.' "

I agree with everything you said. I’ll add on the flip when you see some people posting all of they most personal business, that can also be an indicator of some type of depression. They are so deep in feeling nobody cares they need that social reaction.

That’s The City in a nutshell. People jump in front of trains all the time and people only care that it’s slowing them down on their way to work. The world keeps spinning, people keep it moving. It’s hard to get people to feel sympathy when they could only wish they had a window to jump out of. Everyone has problems.

RIP to this young lady. Depression is a real thing. Check on your people and always say a kind word.

Depression or whatever it is things will eventually have to change for the better cause this won't be the last we hear about a person taking their own life away. It's a shame.

What's funny about this is this was initially just reported as another jumper for the day in the morning and it got traction at night when they found out it was a former beauty pageant winner.

Beautiful people kill themselves everyday. But because she was on tv, famous, winning beauty pageants, this got some shine. Otherwise, this thread doesn't even get made and we keep it moving like we always do.

women put this pressure on each other cuz they fighting over the top 5%

THANK YOU!!!!

When women talk about "beauty standards" and "societal standards", they're talking about the 5% of famous/successful men they want, but blaming the rest of the 95% of us for it.

They're not starving themselves or getting breast implants or butt shots for the dudes on The Coli.

They're doing it, so they can possibly get Tristan Thompson to get them pregnant

Or maybe they can set Chris Brown up for a DV/rape case and get some loot.

The average dude doesn't even exist to most women other than as emotional tampons or just there to help them move or drive them around.
