One of my coworkers at work today said a customer asked her if I had autism.

:mjcry::mjcry:

I don't have it (I was tested for it before seeing my therapist) but explained to my coworker that I have a lot of social anxiety.

Anyway my social anxiety is so bad customers at work think I have autism. I try to make conversation with people I work with but my anxiety is too much. I can say hey, how are you, good morning and pretty much that is it. Anything more than that and my anxiety just makes it too difficult to go beyond that. I can't say anything to the customers besides good morning or good afternoon. So I spend the rest of my shift not saying anything to anyone besides that. I sweat so bad at work or any environment I'm around people. This has been going on for years. :mjcry::mjcry:

I see a therapist and at this point should I just consider an anti-depressant for my anxiety and see how it works?

@semicko82 and @Gator Reloaded you two were on anti-depressants right? Was your anxiety as bad as mine before you got on them?

Hey, at least you’re taking steps to improve by trying. Even if you fail, salute yourself for that. :salute:

That said, I have used medication for anxiety related to a specific mental illness that I struggle with.

I personally think it can help BUT it can demotivate you.

You need to lose weight, right? Well if you get on medication you may not be motivated to lose the weight anymore and you just end up staying stagnant.

I would suggest at least getting in a solid routine first. Start working out and dieting (I suggest intermittent fasting). Start trying to cut down on some debt. Start planning to be able to get a used car and your own apartment a year from now.

Then once you get in the swing of things try some medication.

I just don’t want you to end up taking the medication and getting complacent, which would only make matters worse in the long run.

Keep making conversation with them and your coworkers. You're gonna have to get out of your comfort zone to become a better version of yourself

Also do cardio. Don't think about it, set a time and go at that time. Yeah you'll think I don't wanna do this but after you finish you will feel good

Oh that’s weird maybe they’re being mean to you
I’ve been quiet for most of my life but I’ve never been asked if I have autism I’ve just been told I’m quiet
Have you told your therapist this maybe they can explain why this is happening

I will talk about it with my therapist at my next appointment.

Thanks breh, appreciate it. How/why does medication make you complacent?

@Dave24 Are you still joining the Air Force?

@Sonny Bonds yeah i would like to. If i end up on medication before i join i won't be eligible though.

@semicko82 why wont the air force let you join if you are on medication but once you join and enlist it is ok to be on medication? You were on zoloft once you got in. Why did you have to wait to get in before you could be on it?

I’m going off my own experience, it may not do it for everyone.

Ultimately I’m saying if you have unsolved issues you haven’t dealt with, that will contribute to your negative state of mind.

If you take medication you may “feel” better, but that could cause your situation to stay the same or get worse if you don’t get to the root of the issue.

Plenty of broke, uneducated men get sex regularly.

Don't tell him that bullshyt

he could get kicked out or a parent could pass then he's homeless. he has bigger issues to worry about than booty

him waiting a few months to find full-time income & start some trade program will be better. he'll still be broke in those few months :yeshrug:he just won't be in such a vulnerable position as he is now in the event of some emergency
